ReWired Fogs! But now im worried....

I rewired the foglights on my 03 today.. and after driving back from the store i got out and checked out how they looked (loving the fogs on without the headlights, btw) i went to go cleans them off, and the damn things were HOTT!! im not sure if they have always gotten that hot or what, but they were hot enough where i couldnt even clean em. Do they normally always get hot? What about the glass - no cracking/breaking?! Hopefully its just normal, cuz it looks hot without having the low beams on.

what about the whole 'voiding warranty' issue when modifying the vehicle? would that become a problem if the dealership realizes it when getting maintenance done? cuz that'd suck

For something to void your factory warranty, the service center must be able to prove that your modification caused the problem. If say all of a sudden you started blowing fuses for your lights then I would assume it wouldn't be covered as a warranty repair. But if say your transmission stops shifting one day, then its probably an unrelated issue.

The fog re-wire doesn't affect the wattage ouput at all, so the heat you're describing should be normal. It's a 55 watt halogen. It's going to produce heat.

Normal. You should see how cool it is when it rains and it's cold. You can see the water evaporate if you're standing still.
