cops with nos?

Seriously, NOS is not even legal for street use, so it definitely isn't in any cop car. Most cruisers only have upgraded oil and tranny coolers and stronger brakes and suspension components. The engines are the same.

Says a person that knows enough cops to know they're the biggest crooks in town.
confiscated booze from minors goes into the trunks (and later, fridges) of most cops around here.. usually when they find small amounts of drugs, they take it too and say it was destroyed in pursuit of the person or something like that..
most anything under a quarter, they keep for themselves.
Last year around here, 10% of all the shootings were made by off duty cops for situations that straight cops shouldn't ever be in to begin with.
(i.e. in the middle of a bad drug deal, someone gets shot.. what was the cop doing there in the first place while he was off-duty?)
oh well. not that it matters. msot of our gov't is crooked, why should local police be an exception to the rule?

Here's the scoop on Crown Vics
I work for the local PD (Police Department) and here's what driving the late model Crown Vics is like:
1. They have lots of torque and they sound great with the dual exhaust.
2. They don't handle all that bad with the stiffened suspension AND frame.
3. My Maxima would blow it away in any kind of race.
You also want to keep in mind that alot of the cruisers are beat to death. We have 6 cars running 24 hours a day and here in MA they take a real beating - harsh winters, lots of potholes, etc. The cruiser that I usually end up driving needs new balljoints, the brakes are fair, and the transmission slips.

Is everyone this ignorant?
Lets get this straight. Cops are just people with regular jobs like you and me. The only difference between them and us is that they have authority when we screw up.
Have you ever drank?
Have you ever smoked pot?
Do you speed?
Checked "NO" in the 'do you smoke?' box for insurance?
Thats what I thought and so do they.
What makes them so special? Nothing, they are just like you are me(although some are on crazy power trips).
BTW, NOS isn't illegal everywhere. I've even heard of cops using heavily modded Vettes, Camaros, Mustangs. I know for a fact that many highway patrolmen had Camaros and Mustangs during the early 90's.

I've never ticketed a Maxima driver!
I even let a 5th Gen SE pull out ahead of me last night just to be nice! Last night's cruiser had a bent tie rod and a slipping tranny..... luckily we didn't need to get anywhere in a hurry!

While most cops are just people, power has a tendency to corrupt. Additionally, corrupt people tend to be drawn to power.
Those two factors mean you end up with higher numbers of corrupt types as cops than other jobs. But that doesn't make them all corrupt.

I've read and heard of cops using sports cars, but NOS is kinda rediculous.
Here in NJ, the State Police had a few Mustang LXs for use only on the Turnpike.
While I was in Germany the cops had slant nose 911s out on the Autobahn.
wasn't Mad Max's interceptor supercharged and not turboed?

hey, speeding is illegal, running red lights is illegal but cops do it when they have to. who says some cop cars dont have nitrous for those ever so exciting high speed chases? it may be illegal for us but cops have certain privledges that we dont when duty calls. or even when duty doesnt call...there's nothing more annoying than seeing a police office roll through a stop sign or change lanes without signaling.

Cops have certain rights that come with their territory, in our town they're allowed 10 over the speed limit, and often they don't turn on their lights and sirens to get from point A to point B so as not to attract attention.

about cops having NOS.. just met one that did! i got pulled over for rolling a stopsign by an unmarked cop car, but he did have the red/blue strobes, so i stopped. he talked about me rolling then he asked some stuff about my car... i told him my mods and he asked me if i wanted to take a look at his car. i said sure, trying to kiss his @ss, he had a brand spankin new monte carlo ss fully decked out. he popped the hood up and sure enough was a custom turbo slapped on there (he said he had hook ups since he's a cop) along with huge intercooler. he opend the trunk and next to his "combat" gear was a NOS bottle...i was shocked.. he let me sit inside behind all his gauge clusters and he told me he was running 18 pounds of boost! i asked him what it ran.. he said the last time he tracked it, it was running low 11's off the bottle with all his police equipment, the bottle was a recent mod. he didnt give me a ticket or a warning but he jokingly told me never to run from cops cuz you never know what they have under the hood, and grinned.
