WTH? I did not get in any trouble or anything, infact I have not gotten a ticket for 14 months and 2days, hehe. Theres is a lot of things/risks involved in making a fast car, the biggest thing is the $$$$ and 2 is I don't have the will power to control my self from beating the hell out my car and indagering myself on a daily basis. I just think letting the SC go is the right{smart} thing for me to do. I will be able to pay off the remainder of my car loan next week and start saving for realstate investments{$$$}. One thing is for sure though I will still be loving my car every second and chillin on the org all the time. Thanks for you concern and my I30 is still 95% emax style just with out the crazy speed .

c'mon... I don't need to tell you that even without the S/C you'll still be able to endanger yourself daily.. don't get rid of it... just drive a little easier. Think about it... you'll lose too much money on the S/C to really make it worth getting rid of.

At this point all you are doing is adding to my Guilt trip, it's too late, the SC is allready 1/2 off and the rest will be off tomarrow. Get this, in 1 Hour I allready removed almost 1/2 of the SC, I am good

Lactose intolerant, and really bad. I know there are pills but they don't work good enough, so no dairy for me.

I know what you mean Ethan. I had a tall glass of milk with Ovaltine and boy am I lucky I live alone. I was exploding like never before. I was talking to my girl on the phone at the time and she was laughing at me. I was scared for my life.

As far as you car goes, for me it was good to feel the power of the SC. I'll never buy one but the best thing to me was hearing the SC throughout the shifts, priceless. Yeah, think about the future and get rich then you'll be able to get the toys when you want.

Emax-

May I ask what you do? You seem very well off at whatever you do

It does suck that you are getting rid of the SC, but I completely understand where you are coming from. Atleast you're keeping the I30. I've easily got the cash to buy a SC, but what holds me back is the reliability issues. Too many headaches and too many little things that can go wrong and materialize into a major failure. I prefer to take my car the NA route while making it perform, yet keeping a mostly the stock image, noise, and drive. My goal is 14.2 NA which is entirely possible with traction. If we can mount the 5th gen manifold, then 13s might be possible with a wicked launch.

As for you "investments", way to go. There's nothing wiser than planning for the future when you are very young. Real estate can make you lots of money (my wife's father does this), but it can also be a pain at times. Give it two years before you really start making money. I'm 27 and am already well on my way to retiring early. Save and invest now. Buy fun stuff, but don't get into debt. Nothing is worse than carrying big debt like credit cards, car payments, school loans, etc. If you don't have the cash for the thing you want, then save (unless you're talking about a house or something). I've got stock which if I sold, could by me a very nice car or numerous superchargers. The ability to resist selling is sometimes a bit trying, but I've got to think long term. I also put in about $350 into my 401K a month which could easily be a car payment plus my wife and I top out our Roth IRAs yearly which is $4000. We could be driving much nicer cars and have a much bigger house, but we are very happy where we are at and what our future holds. Eventually we too would like to get into real estate (property rental).

All in all, you're young and you're making the right choice. You can still mod your car, but do it little by little and you'll respect it a little more.

As for having a car fetish, you don't come close to my friends. I keep my cars for about 3 years, but I plan on keeping the Max for about 5 or so. One friend is a bit of a car nut and has NO concept of money. Here are his cars from the past 3 years:

85 Civic hatch
88 GTI
91 GTI
93 Z28
99 Civic 4 door
99 Civic hatch
89 Civic hatch with a B16 swap
97 Accord 4 door
98 Civic hatch

All of these cars have had different stereos and many of them have had various sets of wheels and engine mods. Some of the cars were only owned for months at a time, one for only 2 weeks, and only one was wrecked. The second he gets bored of a car, he buys something else. I get bored of my car sometimes, but I don't get rid of it. His current car is the 99 Civic hatch which cost him about $19500 after you take into consideration how he was upside down in a few prior cars. The Civic is used and only listed for $12000!!!! Like I said, no concept of money.

Very well put Dave. I have read 3 books on in investing in realastate in the last few months and talk to my parents about investing{they are big investers and it shows}. As for what I do for work, right now I work for my family Bussiness which pays decent + I still live at home so my dollar goes a lot further then a indapendent person. I am planing on getting a 2nd job in about a month so I will be making preatty good money for a 21 year old at that time, from there my goal is to save up about 20-25 grand in one year and buy a 3 family house and pay it off with in a few years and then expand and buy more and more realastate. Each house/Appartment will be payed off twice as fast as the one before and eventually I will be making lots of money not doing a lot of work, it's just the first 5 years are going to be a lot of hard work. But again great info and good view points.

Heh, man, I really need to get out of the bay area.

Three family house with a down payment of 20-25k? I have a fair bit more than that saved for a house in the future, but I still dn't feel like I have ****, because here, the 2 bedroom 1200sqft crappy house next door with no lawn sells for $450k. Imagine the down payment on that..

I need to move. Anyone got any recommendations? :P

Sorry to dissapoint you, I am selling the Y-Pipe because I figure all or none{Power} and the noise is really getting to me lately. About racing you I will still wip your butt

Andy, the new clutch is working awesome, the thing can hold some seriuos power{it did } and is very smooth, I think me and my clutch will spend a lot of happy trouble free miles together. BTW my SC is off now, it only took about 4 grooling hours, of course I still have to put my car back together, argh! Watch out for those damn fuel lines there horrible.

Wow, thats a big difference in price there, is the deal get a Z and keep the max or get nitrous and forget about the Z? I would say get the Z and put Nitrous on it and keep the Max , but maybe thats just me, LOL
