Hey guys, when can we have these? This would give us a good indication as to who is a maxima enthusiast and meet more people. It is also good advertising, of course!!!

 

As soon as I can get another advertiser for Maxima.org, I'll be going the route of both license plate frames and stickers, but until then, we're going to sit tight on that prospect.

I know that wasn't the answer everyone wanted to hear, but that's what needs to happen from a cash flow standpoint for now. Gotta pay for the server first!

 

How about we make a minimum yearly membership fee for maxima.org? Will this idea fly? I know I don't mind that. I really like this website.

Jambo, why don't you post a note out there to see how many of us are willing to pay for maxima.org, so that you can pay for the servers? I assume you are the admin for this website?

I agree with you that a lot of people would be willing to donate money to the site. . . But we also have to look at the fact of people who come by occasionally and don't use the forums as much as others. . . They may be willing to donate a few dollars, but forcing them to might discorage them from using the site. . . Can't we set up a paypal account and like post something like once a month to remind people that they can do that? I use this site all the time and am more than willing to donate money to it, I just want to be able to keep it as good as it is currently and continue to build enrollment.

 

Hey, if it weren't for this board, I would have tons of extra money because I wouldn't get all these ideas to buy stuff for my car. But, I'd be willing to chip in a bit, the money I save on repair costs alone is worth it to me. Plus, if plate frames, stickers, t-shirts, etc. are in the works, I think Jambo should mark them up a bit to make money for the server. People are more likely to "donate" if they get something for it.

i say the forums should be open to all. but in order to get in the maxima.org db to be featured as max of the month n stuff, you have to join for like say 5 bucks a year. included with that is a decal.

 

Yeah, I like this idea. . . That way, the people paying are the ones that frequently use the site, not just the the peole who stop by to see what it is or have the occasional question. . . I still think we should also be able to contribute more if we want though

Donations are a good thing, but donating specifically to Maxima.org to keep the server running is not such a good idea.

Now donations to a "Maxima.org" as a CLUB would be a good thing....
