Question for electrically gifted

Looking at the wiring diagrams for the side marker lights and the turn signals, question come to mind.
If side markers are rewired to blink, (with lights off) the circuit appears to flow from the + side of the blinker to the - side of the side marker and thru the bulb. To get to a ground, it appears the the circuit must go thru the parking lamps to get to a ground. If the bulbs in the side marker are 3.8 watts and the parking lamps 5 watts, won't the parking lights have enough current to blink as well? Since the lights are not on, are the dim enough not to be seen during the day?

actually it doesnt HAVE to flow thru the light bulb. Since you are splicing it will go the path of least resistance... So it may go the other way down the + wire to who knows where... But it probably encounters the ground it needs somewhere down that wire instead of going Thru the bulb..
