to all you gas complainers: STOP

....just wanted to let you know that in light of increasing gas prices, I'm:

1. still driving just as much as I always do
2. not making any attempts to drive slow or grandmother-like
3. still using premium
4. not even shaking my head while I fill up

From the news reports about gas prices and everyone complaining, you'd think the world is going to end......

I mean....assuming the average joe drives 100 miles a day (this is a unrealistically high average), that would be about 4 gallons of fuel. That means basically you're spending 4 bucks a day more than you were a year ago when gas was around $2 a gallon. And probably not many of you are putting 100 miles a day on your car, more like 50.....

4 bucks a day. think about it. that's a #3 meal at McDonalds. That's a pack of smokes....thats ONE BEER at a bar. that's nothing.

You guys who spend $1000 on rims and $2000 on car audio systems, complaining about a few bucks a day extra for gas.....give me a freaking break.

no pity

stop crying

stop talking about it

If you are driving for work, don't you:

1. get reimbursed
2. get mileage payments or
3. write it off on your taxes?

Gas station here around my work charges 3.49 for 87 and 3.89 for 93 octane- and its Speedway. Gas station accross the street is 3.19 for 93 octane- and its Mobil. And you know what, stupid people STILL fill up at the Speedway station. I don't pay attention to the price, I travel around 100 or more miles a day in my car and still eat more and more expenssive lunches, and I don't drink no **** domestic beer thats 8 bux for 24 cans. Gotta live large, you only live once.

Exactly, don't drive a car like a max w/mods, low profile tires, etc if you are going to complain about gas mileage. Get a little four cylinder and stop whining. Plus, gas prices are so insignifigant, it only adds to a few dollars a year, I dont understand why people complain so much anyway. They still pay a whole lot more for gas in other parts of the world than we do.

Suck it up....if you don't like paying for gas then don't drive....if you keep on driving don't complain to us about gas prices....chances are:

1. Some of us might pay more for gas
2. Don't care

Quit crying about gas prices. You enjoy among the lowest gas prices in the world, next to say the Middle East.

Try just driving north to Canada and see how you like the gas prices and we have oil coming out of our ears. Now let's talk about the cost of health care!

So is it okay to mix mid grade & premium? The cost is killing me right now. I have my timing advanced and i dont want my engine to ping if I go below 93.

Let the begin...

I dont complain about gas prices....I complain about unreasonable and unjustifyable increases of it. No one in a developed contry like ours should get accustomed to this behavior.

Would you complain if the same were being done for drinking water?? I bet you would buddy.

Gas prices will continue to go higher due to the President's stupidity on not having a plan to fix the problem. No matter how much we complaint and worried this goverment won't care. I voted for him so FLAME me all you want. When you realize that in his cabinet and including him of course... the people around him are what? think for a moment.... they are Oil people. Condoleza Rice ( used to run (Exxon/Mobil) she has a tanker with her name. The Vice President used to run Halliburton and the President is a very good friend of the Saudis.. so next time you have to complaint just think about this.

Um. If people don't care about gas threads, why post a thread about not caring in the first place. Is it really that hard to just not click on a gas related thread? Pointless thread IMO.

It's not so much the price in general, it's the fact that it's increased as much in the last 2-3 months (more than $1/gallon) than it has in the previous 20 years.

I've been driving for 18 years, and I don't remember paying less than $1 very much - if it was, it was in the early years when Mom and Dad flipped the bill. It maybe hovered around $1/gallong for a few years - it seems like so long ago, I don't remember any more. Looking at gas receipts, I see prices of less than $2 in mid June (probably for 87 on our other car). That means an increase of around $1/gallon in 15 years or so, and now another $1/gallon in 2 months.

I agree that we've been pretty lucky for a long time, and we're going to have to drive no matter what the price is. But that's one hell of an increase!

Isn't one of the reasons for high prices around the world the gas taxes in those areas? It's not that gas is cheaper here, it's that we don't get taxed on it nearly as much (please correct me if I'm wrong).

I was half listening to the radio the other day, and I could have sworn that I heard a gallon of gas costs the oil companies less than $1/gallon to produce ($.70 is what sticks in my head). If I heard that correctly, those are the bastards that are raping the public! If anyone knows those numbers, please post them.

Quietly agreeing with Puppet...

Come people, do you not watch the news, read a newspaper, or how about searching the web for reasons the gas prices are going up. For that matter, read other threads in their entirity before bishing and moaning and throwing the blame on the government. The government has absolutely no control on why the gas prices are going up.

The irony is we b****ed and moaned when gas go to $2.40 a gallon last year, and we do that now, only gas is $1+ more. Expect it $4.40+ next summer. I have spent $76 in the last 2 weeks on gas. The sad thing is if gas reaches $4 i'll have to park the car and take the bus. Paying $103 for insurance plus $150+ for gas, and plus other bills is killing me since my mommy and daddy don't pay for anything but my food.
