I haven't taken the T since I got my car and I refuse to ever take public transportation again, ever. I'll pay the high gas prices and ***** about them to everyone who listens, but in the end, I'm gasoline's *****.

I remember when an Imperial gallon of gas (20% more volume than a US gallon) cost about Cdn$0.38 or US$0.315 per US gallon. I think that the US$ and Cdn$ were fairly close to par then (early 1960s). So gasoline now costs about 10x as much.
