ok i dont know seems another tranny might be in for me
i have an auto and my first gear doesnt change till i redline it or just move really slow with out hitting the gas and it wont go into 4th gear so im riding in 3rd
advantage my car is always in the power band
disadvantages the damn car is gulping down gas and i might have to get another tranny cause i cant afford a rebuild

anyone know of any reasons this could be ????

 

Is there a CEL for 'improper shift to 4th gear'? That's what I got when the AT died in my 95 SE, before it was rebuilt.

Is the OD light flashing on/off (i.e. problem with the TCU)?

 

yep check for codes my 1st gear sux too so I usually leave it in O/D off. I get only about 300 miles to the tank

 

well took it to tranny shop seems i dont even have second so it seems like it might be the torque converter but im not gonna waste money fixing the tranny now im going shopping hopefully
