I got Whooped by a modded intrepid ...

Not much to say except this Intrepid (maybe a 300M) was Wicked looking and VERY modified...very nicely done too. Shaved emblems, nice tail covers, lowered, had a hood scoop that actually looked alright on the car, and dark tinted windows. TWIN exhaust with a rumble that would put an SVT Cobra to shame...I was cruising leisurely down 29 coming from Columbia to Laurel at about 55mph...I overtook it, but was looking at it as I passed. He saw me looking, and immediately pulled alongside me. I ignored him for a moment, then he lunged forward a bit, and slowed for me...so I thought what the hell, it's an intrepid...probably sounds badder than it really is...so I punched it, got a car ahead of him going 70, and the next thing I know, I hear a roar from his exhaust and he walks past me like I was standing still (I was WOT). WTF?!?! Never seen an intrepid do that before. I had to turn onto 216 before I could try to catch up to him.

Did it have a stubby nose, or a longer nose? Stubby nose it was probably a 300M. The Intrepid has a R/T model that uses the same basic engine as the 300M, but detuned a bit to take Regular Gas.
Those buggers can be pretty fast.

OH no not New Again.....
aka "Rip Off City"!! anyways I saw that Stratus two years ago at Georgia Ave. Day. the paint job is a bit on the cheesy side, but I wonder what it has under the hood? its got a roll cage so it must be fast!

There is a cat at New Again Auto in downtown Silver Spring that drives a white last generation Dodge Stratus. Sounds similar to his car.

Nothing to be ashamed of. Your car will last longer than his anyway.

1: it's an intrepid...I do have respect for their 3.5L R/T's...but I've never seen one move like that. and
2: the way it walked me...definitely not normal.
It was actually a very nice looking car.
Reminded me of what a 4-door 300ZX might look like.
I'm pretty sure it was an intrepid because of the rear deck and it did have a longer nose...It was gold colored. Definitely not a stratus, though I'll keep my eye out the next time I'm driving through Silver Spring.
