this will be my first winter with the max, before that i was buick pimpin ha, during the winter there would allways be cats climbing on my hood to keep warm and scratching the sh** out of it in the process. what can i do? theres over a dozen cats on my block, bb gun? jk

 

How about a car cover? I couldn't use a bb gun (too much of a cat person), but my daughter's supersoaker has taught my cat to stay off my car...

 

rat poison mixed with with a little bit of Friskies should handle the problem.
but a car cover is probably a good idea too.

^^ i used one this summer because of the sap comming off my neighbors tree and i found it takes about 30 sec to take it off every morning so its not that bad.

 

Get a scatmat, shocks the little bastards.

 

mousetraps with catnip, or bear traps with catnip.

car cover might be a good idea especially when it snows.

 

I actually have the same problem Maybe not a dozen cats, but at least 3 because I see there paw prints on my dirty windshield and all over the car. I've learned to live with it, but if you come with with any good ideas, let me know.

on a more serious note, look around online for cat repellents.

they make some stuff that you basically just dump in a flower pot and it's got some fragrance that cats hate, so they don't go near it. put a couple of those things near where you park and the problem is solved.

 

Good ideas here. My wife's car has a couple of pretty bad scratches from the neigbor's cats. At first, we didn't really mind, or think they'd scratch it, but then I actually saw the cat lose it's footing and rake the driver's side door trying to hold on - scratched through the paint!

 

get a dog....?..

 

Watch and take pictures of the cats scratching the hood.... then in the spring walk next door and hand them the f*ing bill. they will become indoor cats really quick.

 

get a remote start and start it with them on there, thatll scare em really good, i used my remote garage opener to scare my lil poof ***** away

 

Easy. Put catnip on the car in the driveway next to you...problem solved.

If it is just the hood that the cats like, then get a section of heavy canvas and put it over the hood. Easy and you can just fold it and put in in the trunk.

 

A BB gun would definatly work but I would pray you're a good shot.

With that being said, all animals can be trained.. try putting some pebbles in a can and rattling it everytime you come out ! in time they will learn to stay away. Anything else might have the Animal control out after you.

I saved those big huge styrofoam pieces from a tv set and stuck them on the hood of my wife's car. That sure keeps the cat off. Somehow my cat has learned not to go on my car! lol Good cat!

Forget the car cover spray the cat with a watergun once or twice and problem solved

 

Make an ammonia barrier around your Max. If it can stop skunks, I'm sure it can stop a cat.

 

damn cats. when i parked in my friends driveway a damn cat walked all over my car. and you could see the cat prints from the hood all the way to the trunk. a nie little fire cracker scared the poop out of it once. but he still came back so the bb gun was nessacary. it wasnt a powerfull bb gun so it didnt hurt it at all. just scared it 2 death.

 

Funny thing here. Just got my max on friday and bam Sat morning I go out and there are paw prints on my hood! Never had problems with my truck outside. Oh well...the max is in the garage now. Shouldn't have any more issues with paw prints. Just have to teach the wife how to park with two vehicles in the garage.

I have to say I sure do love the folding mirror option. How about anyone else?
