it's supposed to be 72.3 lb/ft, but it's never been removed before. Plus it's at an angle that's hard to put your weight on. So yeah, I went for the breaker bar and 3' pipe extension.

I've got the HF model 46701 linked on the front page. so far it's been awesome, but all I really use it for is to swap wheels at the track. I've used it around the shop some as well, and working on cars when my air impact is being used by someone else.

so far I'm extremely happy with it. it's not the strongest thing out there, but then again, it's battery powered and I paid $100 for it.

If you do plan to buy one, be sure to buy an extra battery (watch the HF sale ads and you'll see the gun for around $100-120 every few months, and the batteries for it are always on sale at the same time.). buy the extended warranty on both the gun and battery, and then you have no worries about it for a couple of years. do whatever you want to it and if it breaks, the guys at HF don't care.. they just swap you out with a new one and you're good to go.
I think I paid right at $180 for the gun, spare battery, and extended warranty on both.

you bought a cordless one right? how strong would u rate this impact wrench? Like tell me what nuts & bolts you can break off with these...

I'm looking to get a corded one...should be alot cheaper and more powerful...well, I don't know for sure, but judging from the stats...it should....can anybody say good things about HF's corded impact wrenches? How strong are they? I'm looking to do suspension work and MAYBE the axle nut...

look at the model number I posted and read the specs on it.
reading comprehension would tell you that it removes up to 220ft-lb of torque and is a battery-powered unit.

njmodi, it runs around $180 for it.
I guess my model was a close out. I got it from Lowes about 2 weeks ago for $21. Its brand new just the discontinued model the 290 yours it the 292. The Craftman sockets were on sale this week for $44.99 from $89.99. I had a cupon and i know someone who works there so it was $37.89 after discount.

only problem is that doesn't help you for sheit when you've only got one car and you just broke the tool you need to get the car running and to the store to replace..
thus, I use a 3/4" drive breaker bar and socket on my front axles, after snapping a couple 1/2" breaker bars on them. went to 3/4" for not much mroe money, and I can use a 10ft cheater bar on it and jump on the sucker and it won't care.

It's small, lightweight, has var. speed trigger, and does like 30-40 ft/lbs. I love it. great for anyhthing small, even for 14mm bolts.

I'm thinking of selling the snap-on impact, don't use it really at all any more at work, and I'm not autocrossing anymore. I had two batteries for it, but one went dead, won't charge. Gun, 1 batt, charger - $100 anybody?
tempting, hmmmm

surely your air gun can remove axle nuts, right?

and who else would be using your tools that you would have to use the electric at home? lol
