need quick response - Maximas in Brooklyn

Today when I left school during my free period to check on my car I noticed a small ding on the passenger side door. It looks like the car was hit with a piece of wood. There's some kind of construction going on that parking lot, there's a bunch of wooden blocks left like five feet from my car. So, I was wondering if it's possible to to get a refund from the city because it is clear that construction workers hit my car? If yes, what should I do to get it?

- There's no witnesses
- I haven't moved the car from the spot yet

What bijan said - you're out of luck. Without any proof that they did cause it, the city will just say 'too bad, you can't prove they did it'. That or just laugh.

I would say this belongs in a regional forum, but that's just a thought

Ok, good news, I bought disposable camera so I’m ganna get the pics tomorrow.

Some local guy told me that his car was hit before and he gave me the name of the construction company, the name of the boss and his phone number.

And they paid that dude for the damage!

You serious, it is that cheap? I though it was like $200 - $250

The metal is bent and paint is a little scratched, I don’t think it’ll be $50

No it won't be $50 since the paint is scratched and the metal is bent. Follow up with your insurance company. That is what comprehensive insurance is for.

How much is your comprehensive insurance deductible?

I think I’ll drive around with the dent. It is not as visible and my car still looks better then most of the cars in NYC

I will definitely try to get something from the construction company. If that guy got his money why can’t I…

you can also try calling 311, telling them what happened, and maybe with some serious b!tching you'll get some money.
2 months ago my boy hit a huge pothole by atlantic ave near the bqe causing his tire to instantaneously pop and rim to break. he called 311 and after much complaining, his expenses will be refunded by the CITY!
if i was you, i'd give it a try.

You should get proper insurance. Fix the dent. Have you no pride of ownership?

Comparing the condtion of your car to others where you live is ludicrous.

You should compare it to how it looked when you bought it.

for us Nyer's, insurance isn't cheap at all, most of our cars do not even have comprehensive due to the fact that insurance costs more than the car itself. It's usually tough luck for us.

no dude u can do something about it! first get some acurate pics, then get 2 estimates, then contact the comptrollers office. they are the ones responsible for damage resulting from city pot holes n stuff like that. u can probibly get the number for the comptroller by calling 311.
