Took my max to Lightning Motorsports www.lightningmotorsports.com today for a few hours on the Dyno. I met Dalton and Tom and a few other guys. I gotta tell ya these guys were awesome. They were very helpfull. "shamelss plug" If you need parts give them a call, they rock.

Anyhoooo...

All runs were done in 3rd gear. I tried a 4th gear nitrous run and the clutch sliped. Time to change that baby out.

I found out that modifing the IAT and ECU coolant temp signals dont do squat. (yall were right, you know who you are!!!)

I scaned them all in and put them in my Zing page so click the link in my sig to see all of them and some of the A/F ratio graphs too.

Here are the ones you all want to see...

NITROUS!

The HP is just about right for a 100shot at the wheels, but look at that torque!! and the wideband 02 showed a nice 12.5 to 1 ratio.

NA

The HP is in line with other 4G Max's with similar mods, but the TQ is a bit low, could this be the test pipe...

I also did a few DV videos of the runs so I'll convert them to MPG in a few days and put them up.

I'll be dragging this Sunday so we'll se how she runs on the track.

Well, I guess I can post the pics here. Matt(Mardigrasmax) and I(me, Cumalot) went to get a dyno on his car. It was a fun day. The only thing I can complain about was that we stand all day long and our feet was killing us! Plus, we were hungry and thirsty. I can't believe the guys there were pouring down a few bottles of cold ice beer while Matt and I had to endure that!

Anyway, here are some various pics. We met up with two fellow Maxima enthusiasts at Baton Rouge, Ken(Seven) and Nelson(Nelzavala). It was pretty cool to meet up with more fellow Maxima enthusiasts.

Here's a few pics of Matt's car.

Ken and Nelson: for pics of my car, check out my profile.

It was pretty cool to check out a dyno for the first time. Watching Matt's car on the dyno while on the bottle was quite amazing. He videotaped the dyno and will probably upload it later on.

Matt and I will be heading to Hattiesburg to race. I know that he will probably do pretty good. I can't say the same for myself. Wish me luck.

hey matt, nice runs.

great minds think alike. i went to dyno today also. i did my 4 runs in less than 2 min, all in 4th gear(the people at Fastech are into speedy dyno sessions). but i won't reveal my results yet cuz certain factors caused the results to be... not as high as they should be. so i'm going back early next week and dynoing again. however, i'll just say this: my max hp is only 15hp away from matt's and the torque was only 12ft-lbs away from matt's. "away" as in more? or "away" as in less? you guess. i'll post new results next week, stay tuned.

Hey, MardisGrasMax and Cumalot, we have to hook up sometime. I live in Mandeville. I have an ‘01 SE 5spd, and I plan on ordering the supercharger in July. I’ll either get it installed at Sonic Boom, or have my local mechanic do it if he feels up to the task. I’ll let you know if I go to Sonic Boom so we can get together then. I’m thinking about getting Fields air/fuel controller after the sc is installed and going to Lightning to tune it on their dyno. It’ll be a couple of months before I get to that, though. I’ll keep you posted.

Well, since ya got full 3" exhaust I'd have to put the smart money on more. What was the "factor" that was ascew? Running an bit rich? Do your curvs look different?

See if Lightning can do it all for you. IMHO they are the best option. We are going to Hattiesburg on Sunday to Drag race.

You should come out. Gates open at 1pm and close at 9pm, heads up racing all day for $15 or $7 to spectate. Well be their from ~2pm till late.

my window switch was set to engage nitrous at 4200. the hp curve goes downhill in a rush from there. that means i need to engage it earlier, like 3600. i had it at 4200rpm so i could get better traction when racing. also i dyno'd with the cat, the noise was getting to me so i had put that on last week. so the gutted cat is going back on. and then there are some other small things that could have been better. we'll see next week.

Matt's car is awesome!

i was glad to finally meet some Maxima enthusiasts in La. man, when Matt's nitrous kicked in on the Dyno it sounded like an absolute monster. anyways after hearing Matt's car i must have a CAI: that hissing sound is well worth the money. well Mike, next time its your turn to put your car on the Dyno. we should all meet up again soon.

good luck guys in Mississippi.

Man, I'm sorry I missed the dyno trip. Great numbers, Matt. Can't wait to see what kind of numbers you turn at Hattisburg!

Speaking of Sonic Boom, I go there once in awhile. I live in Harvey. It's a 20mins. trip to Sonic Boom. If you do head up there, let me know. As far as putting the supercharger in, I know that Sonic Boom has already put in a supercharger in a Maxima before, just not sure if it was a 4th or 5th gen. Seeing that you're from Mandeville, I would try to see if Lightning Motorsports can do the install for you. They are more knowledgeable about our cars than those Honda/Acura boys over at Sonic Boom. Plus, as usual, I bet Sonic Boom will charge an arm and a leg for the install.

Me, dyno? After seeing Matt's car on the dyno, I think I'll wait until I get a supercharger. Following Matt's dyno isn't an easy task.
