KBB is REAL low, ive went to trade in before(didnt actually do it) and they only gave me 8700 for an 01 SE loaded with 62k miles- i showed them the NADA value (11,500) and they went up to 11.... KBB will make you feel like crap if its the first one you see.

I would say about $13K trade in value. Also look at the prices on Autotrader to see what others are actually selling similar cars for in your area. Typically when a dealership takes in a trade, they will mark the car up $3K-$5K from what they paid you for it. Yea it sucks, but Maximas aren't known to have the best resale value out there.

Just make sure you negotiate one thing at a time when you go in to the dealership. Don't let them know you have a trade until you have negotiated the price of the new car. That makes it harder for them to play with the numbers.

sell it on your own, or take it to CarMax...67K mi is a lot of miles for a 2-3 yr old car.

I have never been afraid to tell them I have a trade. I know what I want to pay for the new car in relation to invoice and I know what I expect to be shown on my trade. How can they play with the numbers then? The trade difference number is what counts. They can inflate the new price but must give me more on my trade. I always tell them to use REAL numbers, we all know what invoice is and what we should pay for the car and we know what we want on our trade. Bottom line is the trade difference. Go in knowing what you want to pay and what you want for your trade. Thier first offer will always be crap, I then tell them what it will take to make a deal, if they agree its a deal otherwise I walk. I have traded in like 6 cars toward new and have a good idea of the process. I am thinking I would be happy with $13k against a good deal on a new one and anything over is gravy.

I sold cars for a year and that was one of our tactics. Mix up all the numbers and hope the customer gets confused basically. I gave some advice, doesn't mean you have to follow it. Thanks

2016 base S with 141k. Just got $8500 trade in offer on carvana. So now, test driving a g70 3.3t this weekend and then weighing options. I love my max though. Just at a point where things are starting to go. Wiper motor 2 weeks ago and lost my engine splash shield going 75mph on highway yesterday. Random but I know I’m looking at $500-700 a month in things for the next while. Car has been great.
