Anything stronger than aircraft paint remover?

I am painting some new rims and want to strip the old paint off. I tried using aircraft paint remover from walmart but it sucks. Anyting stronger chemical wise? I have tried using a sanding disk and bursh attachment for a drill but that is not working either.

I have posted this in the wheel section but we all know that place doesn't get a lot of traffic if you already have rims. BTW, I really dont want to take this to a place for sand blasting because its suppose to be
A) A project to keep me out of trouble
B) Cheap

Thanks for the help

Did a quick google and found this.

http://www.caswellplating.com/aids/clearcoat.htm

Seems like it might do the trick.

Try Zip - Strip... you can get it at your local hardware store.

easy off oven cleaner?
Used it yrs ago on anodized "dk" neck and it took the anodizing off so I could polish it.

Varnish remover works usually pretty good.

I have been researching about the aircraft paint remover and I think a major issue I had was the air temperature. There is a small window that is optimal for the stripper to work and unfortunately it has been cold lately (in San Diego yeah... right). For every 10 degrees below 70, it takes twice as long. Oh well, waiting until summer. Thanks again. BTW, how much in your area does media blasting cost?
