Whats up guys? I have a 1988 Nissan maxima. Un fortunately lately I ve been hearign a ping when I crank my car up. Do you all know what could be the prob. It didnt do this a year ago.

 

I am assuming when you say crank your car you hear pinging,in other words right when you start your car up in the morning you hear a pinging noise if this is the problem then your oil pump or oil lifters may not be funtioning properly.
A possible easy solution would be trying a good synthetic oil like amsoil because it tends to stick to your internal engine components better resoulting in less or no pinging.These are just some ideas of my past experienced with my Ford Exploder.I saw you listed in your Sig that you have HID fog lights are they real,and if they are what brand and how much are they.I always thought about getting real HID lights but they are a pretty expensive piece that is just lying around waiting for a theif to just yank them off.

 

well maybe I should rephrase my whole sig , I thoght about that. The arent the real thing, but they are just as bright if not way brighter. They are Hid look Alikes from catz very bright lights, dont look at them directly you might get blind or something. Will cahnge sig now sorry!

 

also it cant be t what you said it was. Ijust changed the oil with very expensive mobil one tri-synthetic and added prolong also. That stuf actually works, I get better acceleration now. but the ping was happening before I changed my oil though, It sounds like it comes fro mthe starter but would a starter make a ping noise?
