Just a lil update.. the V1 is in, and i finally got the ***** to floor it hard this morning with my boss. I hit 100 on the surface streets REAL fast. Lost the steerin wheel for a sec from the jerk/chirp ..

Damn thing is LOUD tho... oh well i can live with it

3000+ rpm all you hear is gradual woooosh .. kinda neat

With the VB mod and the V1 on your Max it must be a great combo now! What is the tranny like when you floor it now? I can't wait for my mod to come in so I can get rid of the hesitation when I stomp on the gas when I'm at speed.

I wouldn't have any confidence with a SC in my car without the VB mod & tranny cooler. It feels the same.. firm when you push it, and quicker. Shifts into higher gears faster too. (Lower numerically, I dunno it sounds weird. )

Got Woosh? Heh.. damn, V2 .. wish mine was quiet now.. a certain someone [future intercooled (ive seen pic!) v1 setup ] just lemme know about sending the v1 to vortech for a rebuild + quieting tuning... i cant bear the downtime but its *SO* tempting.. [gf hates the whistling] .. *sigh*

Anyways, GET THE VB MOD FROM DON. You dont wanna have only 2 gears .. [heh, might end up that way anyways..]

Dave, you got run your car at the track! I have about the same performance mods as you do, and you're an auto. So, it would give me a good idea how I'll do if I get a supercharger. I'm guessing if you do run at the track, what...high 13s?

 

you gotta change your way of thinking about the whine from the v1. I used to be somewhat annoyed also, until one day a friend of mine pointed out to me that my car sounds like it is ****ed off. Ever since then every time I hear the whine, I get that don't F with me feeling.

I got in on Don's VB Mod group deal but I asked him to put me last. Reason for that is every time I order something in the U.S. to be sent to me up in Canada customs seems to hold it up for a day or two which would affect the required turnaround time.
That way when I send my VB down to Texas someone won't be hurting waiting for their VB.
