Pics + Paint question

So this bad boy came in today....

Rest of the kit looks hot too but I have to take off the mudflaps to put it on..

Now for the question(s):
When I repaint the car, should I get the door handles and grill painted white too?
Should I get the painters to add some blue pearl to the paint or just leave it the stock QN0?

Paint Door handles = yes
Paint Grill = no

Just my opinion, but I dont think a white grill would look good. The only thing I would consider would be painting it black, but I think the chrome grills look good on white

yeah the white is nice but adding some blue pearl would be nicer. The crome grill looks nice on that white car, so keep it as is. For the handle get it painted. Keep us posted with new pics with the full body kit on it.

Definitely get the grill painted. Chrome stands out too much...

Chrome = a no-no on maxiams.

All white, car, grill, and no to the blue pearl. The chrome grill doenst looks bad but I feel would look better painted body color.

Did you get you G35 rims? or money back yet?

Lip has been off

No wheels yet. I do plan to shave the antenna. I'm leaning toward painting the grill.

After reading the first couple of responses, I couldn't believe I was going to be the only one asking you to paint the grille too! IMO, if you leave anything unpainted, make it the door handles before the grill. Sometimes, a little contrast on the doors is good, but your front end would look VERY clean without the chrome.

Geez Kev, I haven't kept tabs on your car in a while and you've done all this stuff to it!

+1 on painting grill, and door handles. Only problem is any form of white is a PITA to match sometimes.

paint 'em, but chrome doesnt like being coated, so i would buy an aftermaket or used painted grille so that the stone chips dont pop up as quick, you should be ok with the handles just be careful not to scratch them, and throw some pearl on it.

I think the grill would look good chrome or painted. I would definitely say paint the handles and shave the antenna, though. I'm also going to say go with a little blue pearl mixed in, since you're repainting the whole car.

Kev, I didn't know you had projectors

i agree with everyone else, paint the grill, etc. Be wary of color matching as well

i think the blue would look very nice added in!

i say paint handles as well as grille, although you could go either way. the chrome actually works alright on the white.

also, i plan on getting the ionic kit as soon as Jose gets the front lip ready for production. were you able to get an estimate on just painting the lip pieces just QN0, no added pearl? i'd like to know a ballpark range. thanks

the chrome on any plastic piece is a thin film of copper coated in chromium. chrome does not sand flat(in regards to sheen, you can sand it but it always stays shiny since it's a hard finish like powder coating). so unless you're planning on trying to strip the copper off the plastic, which can be done, but not well and will take many hours,you CANT prep chrome.

just how do you bond copper to plastic? Chemistry doesn't work that way.

Yes to everything and the lip looks nice...even though its not painted yet! I don't like the chrome handles/grilles on most GLE's/GXE's.

i never said anything about it being bonded, how they actually coat it i dont know, but i've tried taling it off my 3rd gen with no luck. my pint being that it is a hard finish like powdercoating, that resists abrassion, paint, which is a soft coating(soft meaning it it more prone to scratching and pitting) will not stick to a surface unless the shine is taken off, therefore, on a grille, which is subject to anything that hits it at 60 mph, will chip alot easier when it goes over chrome than a new grille that is just plastic, which can be sanded.

it's a moot point. i agree to paint the grille and handles, buy an aftermarket grille off ebay for 40 bucks,so it wont chip, and paint the handles that are on the car.
