Electrical Question (lights)
After getting some more hardware to mount my brand spankin' new Hella FF75 driving lights slightly better, it appears I have fried some part of my driver's side low/high beam harness. My bulb is intact, but I'm not getting any voltage at the socket's terminals. We (sort of) tried the wires, but I was ridiculously tired and decided to call it a day.
I have two questions:
-Since I did the 9007 conversion and am running an extra 10 watts through my low beams, plus had two splices (one for alarm and one for the FF75 relay) on a single low beam wire, is it possible that I fried something? The light isn't turning on no matter what I do, I even as a last resort tried reconnecting (resplicing?) the wires that I switched for the 9007 conversion, hoping that the ground connection was somehow fuxxored, but to no avail. I looked into making my own harness and it did NOT look like something that I have the will to partake in anytime soon.
-I'm not an electrical guru (yet!) but the wire that I had to splice into the low beam for was a condition for the relay. Would I be able to connect that wire to the positive battery terminal and have it produce the same effect as if the low beam was "always on?" Since I basically just castrated my car lighting-wise, I was thinking that I could aim the driving lights lower and use them as lighting supplements for now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! But PLEASE, I need concrete help from someone who knows what they're talking about.
Thanks,
Nathan
