i was thinking the same thing, but looking at it, it looks like there is no sealent or anything..just four clips that look like if you take the clip out the lens should come right off

Are you talking about the taillights? You need to undo the 4 nuts, and undo 2 clips. And it should push out. The silicone holds it in though. Using some heat will make it easier to get it out.
