Theoretically you should get better MPG in summer... if the air is warmer, the car is sensing that it's less dense, and thus giving the engine less fuel to mix with the air. Kind of the opposite of the cold air = power thing.

opposite for me

I get much better mileage in the summer, often topping 30 mpg with the 5-speed. Unfortunately I'm wondering if I'm leaking oil now. Can't imagine anyway that I'm burning it.....try a new air filter to see if your mileage goes up

I just got 26mpg out of my 10year old 142,000mi engine. Its the best Ive seen so far.

Ive got a 3rd Gen, obviously, with a fuel tank capacity of 18.3Gallons, I think. The most the pump will ever let me put in is 16. If I let the pump go, it stops and like 14.2gallons. WTF? I milk the pump a little more till I get an even number, usually 15. I let the "Low Fuel" light stay on for a while. How many miles are you supposed to get after that light comes on? I figure at least 40miles. My last tank, 390miles, I filled it up and barely got 15 gallons to go in...

It is tough to say, as each car is different, but in my 4th gen, I have 2.5 - 3 gallons left when the gas light comes on.

You're probably just enjoying the warm weather, windows down, and giving her a little more from stoplight to stoplight. I know I do that in the summer, the weahter just puts you in a better mood.

you should get better gas mileage in the summer; during the winter the fuel is oxygenated, which decreases MPG

You should try not to milk the pump. Youshould only fill it up to the first click. One of the guys at our website always did that and he broke something in the gas tank. The device allows the gas tank to release air as you pour in gas. If it breaks youwon't be able to more than (he said) one gallon of gas in per fillup. I think it cost like $250 to fix.

i get bad gas mileage but it's the way i drive, my gas gauge is funny though. it stays on the F for 60 miles then is at E and i could drive for another 60 at least on down low and when the light comes on i can only but maybe 15 gallons in the tank.
