Friend is talking crap about Maximas! (Camry lover)

Hey guys...my friend is talkin crap about maximas. I need your viewpoints in comparing maximas with camrys, ALL generations...I need your help, help me destroy him down.

Below is a copy of his email. This is what hes saying...

One more thing: read some reviews on the Maxima before comparing it to
the
all-time King of Cars...

Amongst the things car experts say: "While the vagueness of the 1995
Maxima's steering is gone, it's still too heavy on assist and light on
feel
to bring back any speed racer feeling. This car has also become a bit of
a
giant with its 40-foot turning circle; there are certain U-turns where
you
swear you're not gonna make it. Call it the
111-inch-wheelbase-and-245-mm-wide-tire blues."

"These days, a new Nissan prompts the question "which of the pedals has
been over-tuned?" In the Maxima, the answer is "all of the above." The
throttle's touchy - tap into it and you lunge forward - and the brakes
are
a little grabby. Suddenness has also crept into the steering, which is a
little too quick just off-center - a trait shared with the Altima and
G35.
I'm guessing these tricks were taken to make the Maxima feel sportier.
They
don't work."

"I don't see what's so "Maxima" about it, but when you copy a good car,
you
end up with a good car, right?"

"wheels kept spinning off the line, couldnt get them to grip, it seemed
that 2000 maxima had all the horsepower it could handle"

Heres another comparison: by CAR AND DRIVER
http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=8

Avalon = 1st Place
Chrysler 300M = 2nd
Maxima = 3rd Place

hahahahaha MAXIMA GOT BEAT OUT BY AMERICAN CAR!!!!

That right there should be shameful enough...

I'm done with this discussion - have some dignity and shame to admit
your
losses. When experts are saying Maxima is a poser, using "tricks to
make
it feel more sporty" it tells you theyre trying too hard!

my friend has a 99 cam v6...from a roll he beats me...from a start were literally head to head the whole way!..we both only had intakes in our cars...that was back whe I had my 98 max..weve grown up since then and I havent went at it in my 99
Hes not a crap talker though..he loves the maxima world and we do all our modding together..
Also ask your friend where his camry is on that list? All I see is the avalon(old mans car) Sounds to me like hes mad that his camry has no sporty image whatsoever and he would have to search for years to find a five speed

Tell your friend to F off and get a life. Who has that much time on their hands to look up reviews of a car that is 11 years old? Douchebags, that's who.

Camry's come in 5 speeds, not all that common, and less so for the V6 5 speed, but they are out there.

I don't know the 4th gen camry (includes '99) specs, but the gen 4.5 ('00, '01) is a pretty nice car. The 1MZ in those years puts out 194 bhp and 209 ft/lbs of torque, but it's meant more for...'luxury' than sportiness.

Just asking him how big of a following does the Camry have, www.camryforums.com has only 472 registered users, if they were that better there would be a larger enthusiast base for that car. Also the Camry's styling is way to conservative.

On a side note, back in 99 I had to use a rental and it was a Camry . I didn't have my maxima back then so I wasn't biased, it was a good opportunity to get to know the Camry. Well after two days of driving it and *****ing about it's anemic power I started to jump some curves , speed bumps, pot holes, and when ever else was in sight to beat the crap out of that POS car, and from that day on I was sure that I would never buy a Camry.
