LCD Monitor to touchscreen

Is there any way to turn a 7" LCD monitor into a touchscreen without actually having to buy another touchscreen??

WTF?????

1. We have an Audio/Video forum for that
2. I highly doubt it.
3. Get projectors when you get H.I.D.s

Its possible if you could upgrade the software. I heard someone installed windows xp on a dvd popup so its probably possible to do it on nav screen and put a tuchscreen film over. Maybe not ?

answer: NO.

I got a 7" touchscreen for $185 on e-bay. You could sell the one you have and add a few bucks to buy a touchscreen.

it does in a sense

but if the lcd monitor doesn't have the touchscreen interface already overlayed on it, then it won't be possible. It's a simple hardware limitation then.

you're better off getting the entire unit.

You could put a touchscreen overlay over the screen but it would not look right. It certainly can and has been done, but I would say just get a touch screen.

I would not recommend it unless you know what you're doing, but if you did, you probably wouldn't be asking that question here. Grab one off ebay and sell the one you've got if you don't need it.
