Courtesey Nissan sells them. What kind of grief are they giving you?

its funny

because every time i go to this dealership the two guys at the desk always act all friendly and say how nice my car looks and blahblahblah....i installed the popcharger months ago but i was at school and when i took it to the dealer there no prob. yesterday was the first time i took it to my home dealer for the 45,000 sevice and when i pay, one of the guys at the desk makes this comment "your really startin to do some things on that max...all your exterior looks good, but just to tell you, your warranty won't cover your engine if something goes wrong, now that you put in that filter....i hope your not thinking of adding more stuff to it." blah blah and he went on to say its a shame because i just paid the extra $ for the extended warranty.

WTF...my car runs great and on the contrary of how it looks i try not to abuse my car by racing it or whatever. i'm not worried about anything going wrong, but god forbid it does, i was just wondering if i could make a case by saying the intake is a product that nissan sells...aside from other things i would mention..

From my experience, the parts dept at my dealer carries a grip of aftermarket parts like Eibachs, Stillen intakes/b-pipes/RSBs...you name it. They'll be more than glad to sell it to you it you just walk up asking for it but if you bring up warranty issues, they'll tell you not to "install" the parts until after the warranty's over. Bottomline, they'll sell the parts to make $$$, but ultimately they will fix only what they think will be reimbursable by Nissan when it comes to warranty repairs...unless you have a cool dealership.
