cost of fixing a gas leak?
Yeah I have the same thing I think on my 88 I noticed today that when I filled my
tank up for some reason after I got off of work I noticed a large dark spot on the ground under the car near the gas tank. where do you think this could be coming from. I have a 1988 Nissan Maxima though.

First I hope you get it fixed under the recall.
On another car (not Maxima) they wanted over $400 to fix a leak. I think they would have encased the tank in plastic.
On another note, the dealer wanted $500 to replace a fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump. I found an independent shop to only replace the corroded part with PVC (the dealer gives you some bull that the pressure is too high to do it that way) for $94.
At any rate it's good to fix it because fuel is a pain when it leaks. You really need to keep the car where it's well ventilated.
