shop says that Tokico illuminas don't exist.

i decided to get the Illuminas to go with my front drop. went to 2 local shops, they proceeded to tell me that tokico doesn't make the Illuminas for the I35's. i told them what works on the correspnding year maxima will work on my car. same thing, "tokico doesn't make the Illuminas for that car." i just went ahead and got them from ah friend on Ebay. i just thought it would be easier and simpler to purchase and have the install done at one place.
any idea why they would claim Tokico deosn't make illuminas for the I35's/ maxima?

Those are clear indications that you don't want those shops to have anything to do with your car.

I think it's because Tokico doesn't list I35 as an application for the corresponding maxima part-numbered struts.

To this day whenever I order something in person or over the phone I NEVER mention I have an I35. Then I have to argue with an under-educated ingrate over whether the parts are the same or will work, etc.

I just buy on the internet or request the parts for an '02 Maxima. Makes everything so much easier.

EDIT: I just realized you said they told you they didn't make 'em for the Maxima either. Eh...they have no clue nor do they have the initiative to look it up and/or check. Leave them to waste...

I run into the same problem with my 330i. Several strut mfg. don't list my 2001 E46 330i on any look up data sheets. But every other E46 seems to be there. Strange, being that these car's are completely interchangeable, except for the M3 series.

damn....I was afraid of that. No wonder my ride is so bouncy, since my struts are just a figment of my imagination.

oh well
