It looks the same to me? Just a minor facelift huh?
I thought it was going to be a dramatic change like the `07 altima/g35 sedan.

Why would you think that? The current generation was only released in 2004. A redesign wouldn't have been due until at least 2008. This is just a mid model year refresh.

it's the same. they are sticking with this questionable design and UGLY interior.

what is wrong with them.. the entire line feels like toys r us. pick any nissan after 2003 and it's all the same. horrible.

I have to agree, it looks the same as the 04-05 besides the grill. In my opinion, no offense to any 6th gen owners but I think the previous gen Maximas look much sleeker and they should bring that idea back when designing the 7th gen. The 6th gens look to bulky and I can picture them looking much better if they were stretched just a few more inches in length. Just my .02

Peace

It's not a dramtatic change and the new Altima looks like the 6th gen maxima, just a smaller version. I'm curious what the hp will be, the new Altima has 265.

Is it just me or does the front bumper design resemble the Redlinemax bumper?

you mean the Altima looks like a Maxima. and so does the Sentra. They are all Nissans.

So older Altimas look absolutely nothing like any Maximas

Actually repost G-Money. Check the sticky in the 6th gen forum. I posted these pics myself.

I don't know who in the world is in the design department at Nissan, looks like they wanted to go cheap on labor or something. They even managed to screw up the alti which I thought looked kinda good, now it looks more like the 7th gen max at the front.. a big no no. and what they did to the sentra is an insult to any prior sentra owner, I actually like the 5th and 6th gen se-r sentra. What they are doing to the design of these cars is so brokeback.

You say this, but those of us who like sedans who like the 5/6 speed option are being forced to drive Altimas, as the 2007 Altima comes with a 6 speed transmission and 265hp V-6.

I'm not liking Nissan's muscle, but I'll sacrifice the 6-speed. Besides, if I'm driving a V-6 I'd rather drive a Maxima and if I'm going to drive a 4-banger, I'd rather drive a Sentra. I dunno what Nissan is doing.

Great, now the 6th Gen looks... the same.. The Altima looks like a 6gen Max and the sentra looks like a 6th Gen max that got caught in the trash compactor. I'll pass on all 3 and upgrade to a new M5..... .. Okay I wish

*All horsepower ratings are per SAE J1349 AUG2004

Nope. This 255 hp Business because of that new SAE horsepower standard. Its actually the same power as last year, just different SAE measuring stick..........

Most Japanese carmakers are losing hp using this new method. Toyota dropped from 220 to 190 hp using this formula

BTW, all this car needs is some tint , a drop and bigger rims. WHile a 6th gen isn't my cup of tea, the redesign looks better than what came before, and that's honestly all that can be done on the current platform....

I think the new atimas are sweet!! I like the back and the tails. The rims are kool. THe new design grill is kinda weird lookin. THe rims on the 07 maxima are horrible!!! Wtf are they doing to the maximas guys? I wonder if they are goin to make a 07 Se-r verison for the atima. That thing should be at least 270hp. They should have went smart and dropped a AWD in the atima wit close to 300hp. I bet a lot of people would buy those.

i don't like the direction that the maxima's going...

nissan's going to have to do a serious redesign if they actually want to get people to by more maximas...

Every where I read about the Maxima, they always state that Maxima owners are the most lowel or repeat buyers for Nissan. Mr. Ghosn even stated that at the NY auto show.

The grill looks too much like the Acura TL. At least that awful buck-toof look is gone.

am I the only person that noticed this picture?

The redline is 6250! WTF?!?!???!?!?! The new VQ35 revs to 7500 in the g35... and they LOWER the redline on 07 maxima??? and perhaps the altima too... why? Maybe they're having the drive by wire close the throttle body even more at high rpms... rofl

It does look like they blended the Altima and the Maxima to create the new Maltimax or Altimax or even the new Maxaltima. Yeah, Forget about it.....

I like the changes they made to the rear of the red maxima looks at least a litle more sporty. But nothing so far beats 5 or 5.5 gen max's. Nissan might have to go next door and kidnap the design department from infiniti. They have done wonders for that company.
