What to use on tranny pan bolts?
There are 21 bolts that hold the A/T pan. Dealers sells these bolts with some red compound on them, anyone know what this is? What can I use to subsitute for this?

but yes, I use loctite blue on transmission pans, oil pans, valve covers, diffs, etc

I didn't use anything on the bolts when I did my tranny service.
I used a new pan gasket and torqued them to spec.

I've serviced more than a few transmissions where the bolts have backed out enough to remove by hand or even allow the pan to leak.
I would rather take the extra precaution to make sure I don't have to repeat the job(or worse) before the next service interval.
