Tints on lexus question(offtopic)

My uncle recently bought a black Lexus SUV, its the one with the crystal clear tail lights. He has it in black and it came stock with tints. The tint darkness I feel is perfect but when I asked him what percent it was thinking he did it he told me he had no clue because it came stock like that. If anyone knows wha the percentage is on those tints it would be great, thanks!

Manufacturers rarely if ever post such figures. I live in
Mass and out laws regarding such things are a total
SNAFU. If the car came that way from the factory
then you're okay but if you did it yourself you just
might end up paying a stiff fine after you get
harrased by the local cops. I got pulled over at dusk
in my 84 Maxima last year. The cop asked why my fog
lights were on... (I have the yellow "amber" ones
installed under the bumper and use them as DRLs) so
I explained that since my 2 year old daughter was in
the car I turned them on when the sun started going
down for the interet of safety.

He told me I could NOT use them or my headlights
durrign daylight as DRLs because in 1984 there was
no such thing as DRLS. So when a ne WRX wagon
passed by as this conversation is transpiring I pointed
it out and asked if that guy has the right to have his
headlights AND foglights just because he's got a
newer car he said yes. So essentially I said I was
being punished for driving an older vehicle and I could
not err on the side of safety. This arrogant jerk
pretty much told me to STFU and take it up with
the people who write the laws not the cops who
enforce them.

I ahve never been more angry at a cop as I was
that day. If this hd been a tinted window issue
it might have gotten even uglier.

The privacy glass that comes with vans and SUVs is really dark, I would get 5 or 10%.

I would estimate 5% or a 20%

This is going to kill me. I guess I could take a picture and show it to a tinting guru. You cant see through it during the day but it didnt look like limo tint. Im guessing it was 10 or 15.

It should be 20%. Most SUVs and Vans have the "privacy glass" from the factory and they're about 20%.

My mom's van is tinted in the back, and it looks pretty close to my maxima's 20%, maybe slightly darker.
