RANT: Frankencar intakes.

So I bought a frakencar intake a long time ago in 2k2 when the pipes were still straight. I was under the impression that I would get a unit that would have welded joints, I mean I paid 130 for this during a group deal... So, what happened when I returned it back to stock. The 'weld' breaks while I'm pulling a tube off. Anybody else have this happen?

Go to a body shop and ask them to weld it back together for you.
Tip the guy $20 and you're all set.
**** happens, things break.

So, you've had it installed for 4 years and it just now breaks off when you are removing it from your car? Not seeing a problem with Frankencar.

I'd like to see a Frankencar midpipe next to an ebay midpipe. I bet the differences are non exisitant. Frankencar intakes are very pricey for what they are. HAIs. (hot air intakes)

I think I got one of the preliminary ones using JB weld to hold it together...not sure. At any rate, I know someone with a welder and I think I'll just have'em get it back together (byebye paint job) =(. Oh well, I'm still trying to figure out what the hell that annoying whine is I get at different speeds so the frankencar is the least of my concerns.

That whine might be a bad ground.
