There is the compassion and concern he was looking for!

Perhaps 'general disscussion' because it ISN'T a Maxima.....

Silly him for thinking you would respond maturely.

Is it safe to guess he is deserving of some help in this matter, considering he IS a donating member?!

Good Luck with that Harris. I live in Sc, otherwise I might be more helpful! Let us know if it turns up!

Would have been better in the NE section. I'm sorry to hear that, but it doesn't belong here.

I understand that the car got stolen, not downplaying that at all, BUT the point remains that his message would have been better served in the NE discussion forum rather than general discussion, especially when it has nothing to do with a maxima. Donating member or not....it really doesn't matter. Its unfortunate, but how many of you would even notice the Passat?

We've had members here have modded maximas stolen and none has been recovered as a result of a post on here (from what I know) so how can this community, which likely knows nothing about Passats help? Would you all rather I rub Harris on his back and say "Baby it'll be ok?".......wrong place for that....

And I guess...I should just go because Harris is pissed....please. As I and others have said, this thread doesn't belong here. The car was found and not as a result of this post.

The defense rests.....btw...I'm not e-thugging...just stating the truth...

Nupe, I agree that it may have been better served in the NE. But that wasn't what you originally posted! That is why I responded. You were being callous. You may be right that not one car as been recovered via this website, but I would post as well if it had happened to me, on the off chance someone had sighted it! Some people also view this site as the next best thing to family.

These kind of responses and immaturity is EXACTLY why I don't donate to this website. This is not the first case of people treating each other like this!

And no, this isn't a feel better chat room, however it shouldn't be one of 'if it's not a max, I don't care'..... either!

I just think you were being rude. All he was asking was for us to keep an eye out! Why did that justify such insensitivity on your part?

Glad it was found Harris.....

Don't resort to name calling, it just reflects your immaturity as well! I had your back from the get-go, no reason to entertain such childish behavior! The car was found, that is all that matters now!

I would referr you to my first post in which it clearly asks why the post was in General Discussion. Harris has been a member here for some time and should know how to get the best responses. How many people from Orgeon or Cali or even Texas will spot the Passat, that never left the state of NJ?

Its not a matter of being insensitive. There are and continue to be continuous posts on here that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand, there is a reason this is maxima.org and not passat.org or even vw.org. The org is an online community, not a family well not to me. It would have been different it was posted in Off Topic, becuase clearly its OFF TOPIC.

Call me insensitive, call me a jerk, but the idea that the internet is supposed to make you warm and fuzzy clearly is WRONG...its for information...you don't donate because people won't stroke you (or others) ego(s)?

Would you rather, I had gone searching for the car?...you people crack me up on top of that you can SEE the type of person that Harris is....no?

No, I don't donate because of the immaturity, not 'stroking'. I wouldn't run into this demeanor on 6thgenmaxima.org! And there isn't any stroking that happens there. Just friendly, grown individuals, with intelligent advice/help!

Again, I agree with you regarding the NE thing. You are right when you point out geographical differences, I am not likely going to find it here in SC.

And yes, I get it when you asked about 'general discussions', but you still resort to and defend the 'if it's not a max....' mentality. Again, difference in opinions!
Off topic? Yes, I understand that it could have/should have been posted there as well! How many folks visit 'off topic' often enough to even see the post? (I really don't go there often), maybe it's just me!

Internet used for warm fuzzies WRONG?? Hmmm......e-harmony.com....... I recognize this isn't that kind of website, just pointing out that your vision is blurred a bit!
Had it been my mom's car, I would have posted in the passat.org or other various websites that specifically cater to that type of vehicle! I agree with you (again) on that point!

Anyone ask you to go searching for the car yourself? No, again just putting the word out there about the stolen vehicle!

I just couldn't understand your demeanor towards him! And no, I won't call you a jerk! Name calling isn't necessary!

No, I don't know Harris. I just know that a family member's car had been stolen! Which is why he posted the info of a stolen vehicle on the internet!

Internet=info
