Question regarding milling z32 C/S rotors...

Is it safe to mill cross drilled and slotted rotors? They seem to be so close to edge of the rotor I wonder if milling it 3-3.5mm would cause them to not handle the stress of braking like they were suppose to. The reason you're probably asking why I dont just go with cobra rotors is that I already have them. I'm "downgrading" to z32 rotors because I need to fit 16's for slicks.
I guess I can go with blank rotors to ensure that milling it wouldnt affect its performance but if c/s rotors can handle them I prefer them instead so has anyone have any experience??? Thanx in advance.
