25, $320 every 6 months, liability, underinsured motorists, and $500 comprehensive. Still under my family policy...3 vehicles, 3 drivers. We've been with Allstate for over 10 years....plus I now drive a freakin Volvo...how's that for safe? Washington State.

Thing that gets me is the insurance claim history is now like a credit history. I saw mine which were totally blank for auto and homeowners. Again, what I think is shady is that when you apply for insurance, they ask about your history for I believe 39 to 42 mos. However, the report they run goes back 7 years, so in reality they're looking back 7 years. When people get hurt is if their current carrier drops them.

Though I always pay my premium (no choice), I still feel the urge to speak up on what a ***** industry it is. What would be the next thread would be to ask how many people have actually made a claim, and since they began driving, how much have they paid in premiums vs. how much have they claimed in benefits?

I may be mistaken, but that seems like something that your insurance would keep on file as well...

Not to get a little off topic, but if you guys ever need ANYTHING for a 240SX get in touch w/ me. Parts, advice, anything... Our shop works on, for the most part, only 240SX's nowdays. The guys are turbo'ing one right now. Just thought I would throw that in the mix!

Im 29 years old with no tickets, and I am being aggressively bent over for 250 bucks a month.

It was 150, but got a flat tire once and it came apart and damaged my fender. Had progressive fix it, and they promptly and squarely Ro Cham Bo'd me in my salty chocolate ***** for an additionall 100 bucks a month.

Hate em'

I hate insurance companies... I don't like how everyone's insurance is based on their statistical, risk calculations... Someone should really start a human rights complaint - technically, they're violating our human rights.. @!

Currently i'm under my dads policy, but Geico quoted me about $1700 for the year. I don't remember if it was liability of full coverage though.

I'm 25, single male in Cleveland, OH with Allstate. '00 Max and '93 Nissan hardbody (full coverage on max, liability on the truck). I rate just dropped a bit since I turned 25 this month. 0 points on my license. I'll be paying $498 for 6 months when I get my next bill in October.

I'm 21, single white male from long island, NY...
Right now I'm paying about $315/month for 25k/50k liability and a mandatory PIP deductable of $200.

'96 max with 8 insurance points charged by progressive... all but 1 point are from over 24 months ago now, so next month I should see a significant reduction (I hope).

You may think $310 a month for liability is expensive, but up until two months ago I was paying $480 a month, and a few months before that I was paying almost $600 monthly on assigned risk before progressive picked me up.

Moral of the story? Don't drive like a reckless idiot in new york state if you're under 21, or you'll be paying more per year for insurance than your car is actually worth.

It might be a bright idea to some to drive around with  insurance, but what IF you get in an accident? I doubt any of us have the money to pay out of pocket for the ridiculous amounts of repair charges and/or hospitalization.

Currently insured still in the state of TN, haven't changed it to GA since I've moved back. Not sure if the rate will go up or not (I doubt it'll go down). By the way I listed that I was a female since I think it might affect my rates, not sure though.

Her point is that her sex probably does affect the premium.
