How Much do you Spend on insurance??

My car is happily driving me to the poor house with a monthly insurance payment higher than my car payment. Is everyone getting bent over by high collision liability? Please:

State your age, location, what year max you have, and How many points on your license(if Any)

Since I'm Asking, I'll go first;
im 25, i have 7 points on my license (yeah i know, mich state troopers are evil; its all from speeding)
my car is an 03SE and is insured in Cincinnati, OH (setup garaging loc. at parents)
and im paying over $300mo.

Also, any reccomended insurance companies?

$60/month with State Farm, 250/500K limits, 500 deductible. Madison, Wisconsin.

I'm 26, nothing on my record. Sadly, I'm still broke and in debt despite the low insurance payments and no car payments. Don't ask why.

lol funny you should ask.

2004:

Feb - Was rear ended
Oct - Was hit head on

found no fault on both counts

2006:

feb - lol rear ended. one day shy of two years since the first
apr - tboned

found not at fault on both counts

4 accidents, no fault of my own.

1998 maxima, full coverage. Cheapest i could get was geico, 1549.26 every 6 months. 3k a year basically, because other people cant drive. No tickets on my record. Bunch of BS is what it is.

Im 19, and from Jersey. I paid 120 a month for my 1996 max. I have good student discount and some other stuff. 0 points. I have All State and had a good experience with them actually. I totaled my car 2 days ago and I got my free rental car today, until I get the check from them (2006 kia spectra). Also, they apparently don’t just go by book value for a totaled car. They look at the exact car with the same miles and base the check on how much its selling for in your area, so it’s more than just book value. So go with All state? I dunno

I guess I am so so...

I just picked up my 04 Maxima about a month ago. I'm 21 and have never had any points on my license, or accidents that were my fault. (I'm hoping to keep it that way...) I pay $560/month for the car itself and $480 every 6 months for full coverage insurance with Nationwide. I couldn't believe how little I had to pay. The car I had just before the Max was not nearly worth as much as the Max and I was paying $120/month in insurance.

used to pay over 3k per year. Now, since I'm married, older, and wiser, the insurance is down to $600 a year.

nope.. $5100 a year.. bastages..

I'm thinking Canadian insurance companies are worse than American? My roomie drives with no insurance - saves himself a ton of cash.. haha, terrible idea, but when you're premiums are that high...

I'm 22, male, and full coverage runs about $2400 a year from Liberty Mutual (full coverage). I've had no claims since I got the Max and no tickets. My last car, a 94 Camry, I had a lady scrape me in the parking lot (I was inside), a dumb $itch ran a stop sign when I was driving my dad's Accord, and some @$$hole shattered my window on campus (in the middle of the quad, with no wittnesses... My insurance went up about $300 whenever my window was broken and the girl ran the stop sign. Got the Max and it went down $100 or so...

You guys/girls driving around with liability only...I hope you also have uninsured/underinsured coverage. It's not much more and can really cover your **** if hit by an uninsured or underinsured driver. Being in my business, I've seen far too many people hit by uninsured drivers and end up losing everything they have.

31 y/o single male. No tickets, one accident (not my fault) in March. Plus my gf who is 25 w/o accidents or tickets. Mercury Ins. in Los Angeles. $500 deduct. and full coverage. = $1200 per year for the Max, then add $600 for the 2nd car (2000 Saab 9-5 wagon).

AMEN on the unisured/underinsured motorist. If you don't have it, GET IT NOW. NOW NOW NOW. I'm looking at over $100,000 in medical bills from my motorcycle accident in March. Thankfully, the car that T-boned me was covered and I don't pay anything. Imagine where you would get $100,000!

I don't know about Nebraska, but you do 25 over the speed limit in Ohio and it's pretty likely you will get not only a speeding ticket, but also a reckless operation fine.

2000 SE, 20 y/o on saturday, no tickets (except loud music, $75 FTL), full coverage, $130/month with good student discount- State Farm.
Country Companies would have been $250 with all of the above the same.
