My 98 Max has 30,000 miles. I've been using regular oil
since I bought it. Can I simply switch to synthetic oil on
my next oil change or must I do a complete flush or use a
blend at first. And what brand synthetic oil should I
use? Thanks..

Heres the deal..... Just start using any name brand FULL SYNTHETIC oil. Dont worry about the flushing or anything like that. Change it regularly (4k-6k) and you should be fine. I personally change it at 4k. I hear that you really dont need to with synthetic, but it cant hurt either changing it that soon.

Yup, just change it... no need to flush.
BTW, FYI, 7500 miles is ok.

I don't understand... why do you have to change at 2000 miles b/c you have to drive to another dealership? I was think that b/c you had to drive further that a longer change time frame would be less trouble for you.

Flushing can sometimes remove the oil deposite
that prevents leaking. Just switch to synthetic
instantly.
