Anniversary Edition, 5-speed, black on black with titanium tint wheels. It's sweet!

Pictures will be on my site in the next few days.

I couldn't leave you guys, my name isn't JimW..*slap!*.
Like that Jimmy, plenty more were that came from!

Seriously, for the money($30,900 window sticker) there was
no other choice(my opinion). Trying to find one of these cars is even harder. I will try to post a little story on my site later in the week. But basically the 20 miles test drive throught the Bucks county area sold me.

I win!!

I guessed the car!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!! You've got a LSD...no fair!! How did it drive compared to Mega Max? I'd figure it feels a little more "substainal" since it weighs more.

Hehe, yea, I know. I had it coming....
Looks like we'll have some "friendly competition" again, eh, Jeff???
You're right. For the money, there's no other choice for a spirited sports sedan..
I know you'll enjoy it..

CONGRATS ON THE NEW MAX!!

I know what's up with that guy Jim W from Staten? Hey it's all GOOD to change! At least he stills talk to us.. hehehe Well I use to drive a German car and might be going back to one for my next ride. The performance and handling still not exactly there in Japanese cars yet. Just got to see what kind of new rides will be out when shopping times come around.

Can't wait to see the new AE Maxima pics on your site. Any Photoshop ones for us to enjoy? I know you are good at that.

Hey join the club with the black on black Maxima. I think I might start a new car club with owners driving black on black cars. My friend just bought a new Acura TL with black on black leather. Guess who choosed the car for him???? A bunch of us in MA drives some nice black/black rides. Wonder what people would think if we had a meet with all blacks cars. THE MOB!

Wow! Congratulations Jeff. I figured you for a hardcore 4th gen driver. That VLSD will give you an edge. The time to beat is a 14.8 for a 5th gen 5 speed. (For non-boosted.) I'm sure you'll be the one to do it.

BUT THEY WANTED $35,500 FOR THE THING!!! JEEEEEZZZZZZ!!!

Sorry...but for that money i'd chip in another $5k and get a damn M3.

I'm MORE than happy w/ my 00' GXE...
but i only paid $19k for mine brand new!!

---Adam---

PS: Congrats on your new car!!!
PPS: I think I'll be buying that sweet body kit from Nissan (looks much nicer than the ugly STILLEN kit!)....
Maybe I'll also buy the "AE" emblem ; )

i hope they cut some off the msrp.
over 30k for a max is just too much.
good to see a die-hard maxima fan though.
btw just wondering jeff, IF you were actually getting an auto, woule it still be auto 5th or you will look at other options?

but the car will stay as is. I will be adding a front strut bar and Stillen rear sway but that is all. NO racing, sorry but I think that MegaMax was the car and it might be hard to top. I will still be at the track to cheer other maximas on but I think I am retiring...Unless someone will let me drive there car down the 1320.

The car will be for show just for the fact of it's rarity.

I agree...the max is too good looking to race on the track more than once or twice.
It turns heads and looks gr8 with a couples accessories added. Did you sell your enkei rims with megamax?

I'm interested in a RSB also. If you find a good price let me know and I'll buy one with you. maybe we can even meet and install them at the same time so I don't screw up. (never go a chance to put one on my 4th gen.

I went from a dark 4th to a light 5th. you a white 4th to a black 5th.. better get used to cleaning it every other day!!!

Check out Phuong for a Stillen RSB. He has good prices and excellent customer service. gr_racing@yahoo.com

If I can install a RSB, anybody can. I'm creating a 5th gen RSB install page as soon as my pics come back.

Let me know if you're interested in the RSB and I'll add it on the order. I can bring it to the Etown meet on the 5th to save you on shipping costs. I placed Jeff's order this afternoon, but it's not being shipped til tomorrow, so let me know soon.. $225 for the 2K RSB

How about starting a betting pool to see how long Jeff can wait before he starts racing it? haha

note: I ordered an extra 2000+ RSB...

He's got to race it at least once. Many curious folks out there want to know what the +5 HP and VLSD does, if anything.

How can you buy a car that hasn't even come out yet?

Do a search on this guy's posts, you'll see who's the real idiot.

Thanks CoolMax!

If and when this car happens, I can't image getting is for less then $40,000 because I know the dealer will have to markup these Bad Boys. For $40,000 I would look at a M3 with 300 plus horsepower.

I don't believe for a second that Jeff won't race nor mod his 20th AE Max. It will be impossible for him going from lots of special mods down to nothing, but a stock Max with suspension tweaks. It sounded to me like Jeff was really into the track and winning.

I give him till the beginning of the next racing season so his car is broken in. He'll begin engine mods in December. I am almost certain about this. What fun would it be to have a stock car anyways?

Dave,

People can change and I'm having alittle trouble swallowing this myself but for now, no mods. I won't say that age is a reason for the change but my fully moded '95 was getting annoying.

We shall see what the new year brings.

Well you want that car to be unique, eh?

Why not make it the fastest N/A 2001 AE Maxima? That's unique, right?

At least get springs on it. H&Rs, that is what I want to get.

Man Max looks like 4x4.
Yeah, that is what I will do to my 2000 SE, is to add FSTB, RSB and springs maybe.

Why did they make Max so damn high. ;( At least SE should have been lowered a bit.

Anyways. Nice car.

Enjoy it.

It's the New Car Syndrome

Specially when it's a Special Edition. You're like heck no I'm not touching this one. Once the new car feeling wears out and it's just another car then your like hmmm what can I do to my to make it LOOK better. A Stillen Super Charger?

Yup I'm sure folks with nice cars like Ferrari's feel like their cars are just another car, from the inside. Well, let's say some one with a Benz. instead.

Can't wait to see pics.

Your Max was getting annoying too I see. That's why I removed my HKS muffler. I was getting sick of the "hey, listen to me" exhaust noise. I've got the stocker back on. My car is very quiet now and is performing better. It's close to stock while driving normal, but you still can't get around the Y-pipe hiss and intake on WOT (which I still love).

I have no doubt an intake and Y-pipe will work their way into your Max in the very close future. Almost everyone says they aren't gonna touch their brand new car once they get it, but we all know if you're a gearhead you won't be able to stay stock for long. You'll race some Stang one night and lose by a car length. You'll think, "whoa, this baby moves. If I had another 10hp I'd be right next to him and 20hp I'd be going by him".

There's no fun staying stock, especially when there's a lot out there that can make the car a good bit quicker than stock. Having a 20th AE Max doesn't mean you can't mod it. Hell, people mod their rare F-150 Lightenings, Cobras, WS6 and SS F-Bodies, ITRs, and such because they know their powerful ride can only get quicker. You ain't fooling me, Jeff

Re: Re: Congrat's

With winter coming I'm not planning to lower or get a RSB cuz that will be one more winter that the bar goes through the salt and winter crap on the road. plus I'll have 15"rims and snows tires so I won't want to drive aggressively anyway.

?Has addco come out with a 5th gen RSB for ~$150 like the 4th gen? if it is available its prolly similiar to the stillen right?

Paul...pics of the RSB install and instruction would be gr8!
I never got a chance to install one on my 4th gen sothey would be very helpful.

If I'm gonna spend over $200 I think I might lower the car first before getting the RSB...good or bad idea?

RSB

My pictures should arrive tomorrow or Thursday. I'll scan them in right away and do the write-up. Even with 16's the RSB makes a big difference. I notice more difference with the RSB than with a FSTB. (Or they are just working together.)

Yeah, I'm looking for a good digital camera for around $200. The Olympus 360 is looking good. I want the Mavica 88 or 90, but they are around $500+.
