How many people registered on the org before their current Max was even made?

How many people registered on the org before their current Max was even made?

I was wondering how many members of Maxima.org have been here since before their current Max was even made. I figure most of you will be repeat Maxima buyers. I wonder how many models have the kind of loyalty the Maxima seems to have, or even Nissan in general.

Personally, I am on my third Maxima, and I registered sometime after I bought my first Maxima (96 5spd) after lurking for a while. That Maxima was lost after sliding off the road into a ditch tile in the rain (I still miss her). I bought a 98 5spd not too long after that but I never did find the same love for that one as my first so I ended up selling it after less than a year. I am now completely enjoying my 02 6spd which I bought in April of this year. I have owned many cars and trucks (more than a dozen, about half Nissan, including 2 S13s and 2 NX2000s (still own one of these, great car too), and the 3 Maximas) and I put the Maxima at the top of my list.

I don't know how many more I will have in the future though, since I'm not too thrilled with the current direction Nissan has been taking with their flagship. I feel like they have been slowly moving it away from its 4DSC roots, IMO it has become less and less sporty since the 3rd generation.

Edit....Now that I think about it, the title of this thread should have been how many repeat Maxima buyers are there here since only the 5th and 6th generations came out since the org started, but there may be many people who are repeat Maxima buyers that currently own a 1st-4th gen.

I, like quite a few members, were members before we got our license or car.

What was it that first attracted you to the Maxima? Was it magazine reviews? Was it a family member or friend that owned one? For me, one of my friend's father bought a 4th gen 5spd; I was driving an 87 Cavalier at the time. It was fast, so smooth, 4 doors with a manual transmission, on top of being sexy as hell. I have loved them ever since.

I was on a tight budget in High School. Requirements were simple. Only a handful of cars fit the requiresments:
92-93 Camry Sedan v6 5sp
Mazda 626 v6 5sp
92+ Maxima 5sp
Ford Taurus v6 5sp
Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

I joined all the local clubs to learn as much as I could. It was weird asking for rides to meets... no license, no car. haha.

I had a Maxima I think before this board was even in existence. I bought my first VE 5-speed in 1995 (it was a pebble beige 92). However, I didn't join maxima.org until I owned my second one (the red one) in 2003.

Found the org a couple of week after I bought my car and was looking for info on changing my starter. Saw a write up on here and the rest is history. . .

I was on here when I had my SE-R just to learn some things. At that point, I had to plans to get a maxima. Took a break from the .org, bought the maxima in February and now I'm here religiously.
