in the past i have always just washed my car and that was it. lately ive been washing it then waxing it. the first time i tried it, it was a disaster. swirl marks all over the place. the second time turned out much better. for the 3rd time i bought a different type of wax (still turtle wax but its black "Color Pure") the 2 times ive used the new wax ive been getting swirl marks like you wouldnt believe and buffing does nothing. what is my problem? could the fact that i have a black car and im waxing it in the sun make a difference? ive noticed that the surface of my car is really really hot. what should i do?
thanks, everyone.

i use mothers 3 step
first you strip off all the dirt, grime, old wax with a pre was cleaner.
Then you do the sealer/polish
and you finish that with the wax
Be sure to use a nice terry cloth and to change it often. And yes you will have swirl marks because you car is dark

Instead of using circular motions to take the wax off, go in a unidirectional motion. Basically, just rub, back and forth to take off the wax. It'll be a biatch to take off but viola, no more swirl marks.

i tried that. it just ended up leaving vertical streaks. i tried rubbing them out for like 10 mins but it hardly did anything. i was just hoping someone knew a little secret that they could share with me.

Make sure the surface of your car is cool to the touch before you wax!!!

Some tips can be found here:
