I can get a set of powdercoated rims from the same shop that did the ones in the photos, or I can try my hand at polishing.

Opinions?

wow, tough call. they both look pretty sweet. if you do decide to do the powercoat black, knight ride the entire car.

ps - you better make sure you always put tire dressing on your wheels. those dry tires look odd since they now look grey against the black of the rim.

What color is your car? The powdercoated is nice, but I've always been partial to silver.

Car is a dark green 96 SE

btw,
If anyone's interested, he has to confirm, but I may be able to pick up 1 additional set of powdercoated rims in the $500 range. That includes a 5th wheel, to use as a spare.

That's a pretty decent price. Powdercoating alone costs about $50-60/wheel.

I could never find a quote that low... anywhere near Philly?
It looks like he's just trying to move that set out.
He said that he had it on his old white Z and it looked great, but he's not happy with it on his current Z.

I'd imagine that they'd look great on a white or black Maxima, and with painted calipers it would look even better.

Black wheels look terrible. Don't get those. Your car will always look like it is driving around on the stock steel wheels with no wheel covers.

Cool!

Thanks for the info! I'll try them this weekend or next week. Hopefully I'll have more info about polishing by hand as well. Does anyone know if there's such a thing as clearcoat in a spray can that's suitable for this application?

Any photoshoppers want to place a black and/or polished wheel on a dark colored max?
