Anyone replace rear glass/windshield?

I have a 92 Max, and the defroster grid is mostly scratched off from removing the tint. I have seen the kits to repair where you paint on conductive material but saw that some people's glass literally blew up after that...allbeit, later.

My local yards want $75 for the glass and $75 to install it. Or I can pull it myself for $36 and try to find someone to install it.

Has anyone gone through this before? Thank you in advance.

Yep saw that page too. Thanks!

Also found this pen, which I might try first:
CAIG CIRCUIT WRITER Part # S-CCW100P $10
Circuit Writer precision conductive ink dispenser makes instant traces on most surfaces(epoxy, glass, metal). Draw traces on ciruit boards, repair defective traces, make jumpers and shield electronics, design prototype circuits, repair rear-window heater traces. Silver based solution, 7ml pen dispenser.

Take your time, and either way you should be fine.
