It's a sad day...
As some of the 5th gen people know I was asking a question about upgrading from my 4th gen to a 5th...Why? Last thursday night a guy in a fullsize Chevy 1500 4x4 was making a left-hand turn through an intersection and apparently he didn't see that was I comming through said intersection. It was raining and I didn't have much time to react..I hit him doing about 30-35mph. I don't really remember the impact but the slowmotion spinning is really vivid. I'm alright though and thats what really matters.(yeah, he's alright too) My ribs are bruised but thats it. I got pretty lucky. I went today and switched my wheels and got all my stuff out of it. so i snapped a few pics. I'm pretty sure they will total it so hopefully I don't get too screwed by the insurance company.

Hope everything works out with your insurance. Glad you weren't seriously injured.

Don't let the insurance company browbeat you. Stand your ground with them. Emphasize the positives with respect to the condition of your vehicle prior to the accident, its maintenance record and comparable prices if you can find any locally that will help your cause.

My insurance company is State Farm. I'm not really worried about much, I'd just like to get it over with quickly. I have to wait to hear from his insurance company, then their adjuster comes and looks at the car, then My adjuster talks to them...blah blah blah. The Adjuster from my insurance company just so happens to be the guy that did all the body work and everything from when I rear-ended someone. I think this may play well into my favor. Plus, I have reciepts for everything and the insurance agent said that will help out. The guy is holding the car(2k2 Black on Black 6-speed) untill he hears from me, so I don't want this to take too long.

Glad you're okay man... I've been here before, unfortunately. I hope you saved your receipts for your mods on the car. they will try to ignore the fact you have a CF hood and just price it as stock. I'm not sure what other mods were damaged on the car and what you can remove, but you will need to beat them over the head with receipts on all of your mods that can't' be removed from the car before they will pay for them.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your vehicle. The vehicle on the right looks just like my Olds Cutlass Ciera that I owned prior to my Maxima. I hope you get a decent amount back from the insurance company. Remember that the most important part of this all is that you're in one piece, free of serious injuries.
