Do eyelids normally survive bad weather?

I just got eyelids for my 5.5 gen and painted and applied them today. It came with an automotive self adhesive wipe. Basically when you apply it, it creates a sticky surface and then on top of that, you apply adhesive side of the eyelid over it. Well it stuck on pretty good but Im just worried about rain and snow. Do any of you have eyelids that survived bad weather and still look good?

If it does come off over time, would I need new eyelids? B/c Im pretty sure by then the adhesive would be totally gone.

Use 3M double sided tape and make sure the paint has fully cured. You should be fine. I have the CF ones and they've held great, although I don't drive my car in the winter.
