Turbo Timer is a Good Thing!!!
#1
Hey,
Everyone I have talked to usually tells me that the Turbo Timers are worthless (except for a Turbo), even when you have a S/C. This isn't possibly true, because our versions of the S/C kit have an oil line running to them. This means that the oil circulates through them. Granted the turbo timer wont have to run the car as long to make a difference for the S/C, but it would definitely help, especially if the car was driven hard. Also, if the oil cooler is somehow near the fans for the radiator, it would cool the oil as well. I think its a good idea. This is why I am getting the HKS Type I (Built in G-tech) Turbo Timer.

I think the consenus was that it couldnt hurt, but isnt required with an SC. SCs dont spin anywhere near as fast as turbos (maximum of 40000rpm vs 100000rpm). Plus the SC doesnt have exhaust heat to deal with so it doesnt get hot from that either. Things to consider...

On one hand though, we have a G-tech (Cost: $140). On the other hand, we have this turbo timer, which has all the features of the G-tech, but the safety effect of leaving your engine running. The cost...$116. I dunno about you, but I think the Turbo timer is a better buy.
