Tough question

I posted this question on the 3rd gen board and no response. I found a black bar in my trunk when I was putting my subs in it is about 13-14" long and about3-4" in diameter. It weighs about 25-30 pounds. I would like to remove this to free up that weight. What will happen if it is removed. Thanks

maybe its a strucutral bar, in which can your car won't be as stiff if you take it out.
