Post Your HID Pics

All those threads on HID lighting. I figured we should all post what our HID's look like. and discuss them here in 1 thread. Name what Temp you have. And your personal Opinions on them!!! A Picture of the Headlamp itself, and one of the Output would be best.

I have 6000k H7's in a pair of BMW e36 headlamps put in my 94 Maxima. They nice white light that spreads evenly over the road is amazing compared to the stock Coleman lanterns we had as headlights. Fog isn't too bad. but the nice cut off line and seeing the blue/purple hue reflect of road signs and peoples cars is mint. They have made a few people ask about them. Personally I wonder what the 8k 10k and 12k would look like.

6000*

The only bad thing about 6000* is for me there is a small adjustment period where I'm simply used to driving halogens. The 6000*'s don't seem natural, but they are fun as heck . I do think it would be pointless to go any higher. Even the 6000* are but with the projectors the whole less visible light deal isn't a big concern, they throw out more than enough and then some.

Besides, 6000* makes those running factory HIDs jealous

Please never drive with your fogs on, you are blinding the crap out of oncoming drivers.

Sunlight on a clear day is about 5500K. 4300K appears yellow during the daytime but is pretty much pure white during the night, whereas 6000K is blue during the night and very faintly blue during the day. 4300K bulbs will also have more relative output, lumens-wise, than 6000K.

And "function" would be lighting up the road ahead of you so you can see, not making your car look pretty.

FYI.

the lum diff isnt that big to 5000-6000k. my 6000k has NO blue to it. mc cullah kit. if i wanted a cool car i'd buy 10k. 6000k is stil plenty bright enough with good projectors. and if i ever need more light which is rare. ill turn on my 3000k hid projector fogs. and then my highbeams. so yes 4300k may have 200 lm more. but if it was truelly better. the newer cars wouldnt be coming out with 5-6k.

if thats blue i must be nuts. i mean even the cut off line hue is purple not blue...

relative to 99% if HID's which are 4100/4300K, 6000=obviously blue

no pics of mine yet though I've had them for 2.5 years

see sig. 4100K

There's about a 20% difference in visible light between 4300K and 6000K.

Apparently you're not familiar with white balance. Look at all the other pictures in this thread. MrGone's 6000Ks are clearly blue, and Big E_Dog's 4300Ks are definitely white. Most digicams adjust white balance automatically.

it also depends on the company of the hids also. I guess you'd have to see them in person. there is no blue about them. plus they aren't in projectors in their pics. meaning that the glare from theres will show up the same color of the cutoff line of a projector. my cutoff line hue is blue/purple. I am not gunna argue. i drive my car. and i know what the colors blue and white are. there are alot of things to consider and could make others different. but my personal 6000k hids, are WHITE.

This is the rated for my kit:

Lumens (Brightness)
4300k Xtreme White 3100Lm
6000k Diamond White 2900Lm
8000k Iceberg Blue 2500Lm
10000k Brilliant Blue 2300Lm
12000k Violet Purple 2000Lm

Stock 4300k. Stock foglights. The light output is decent. They are not as good as the projector-equipped cars though.

I have nothing better to do but post a pic here at the moment:

00 Maxima with 02-02 HIDs (stock 4300k bulbs), cleared, with HIDTech 9006 capsules and stock H3 bulbs in the fogs. Nothing special or original, but I always enjoy the contrast. The yellow fogs make the HIDs look that much whiter.
