Can you test suspension assemblies while off the car?

I was wondering if there are ways of bench-testing strut and shock assemblies (with the springs attached) before they are mounted on a car that would give them a rough idea of how they will perform once they are on the car?

If so, is the testing not worth the cost to do it?

Sure but it would probably be time & cost prohibitive for nearly all. You just plug in the spring lengths and rates along with damper figures and run what if's with software apps. What ya have in mind?

I've got a full suspension set that I want to sell. It came off of someone else's 1997 Maxima SE, and I, personally, have no idea how they actually feel or perform. Visually, they look to be in good condition. Yet, rather than having to tell prospective buyers that the springs/struts/shocks are "As-is" items, I was wondering if there is something a little more I can say beyond "Caveat emptor?"

From what you've said, though, I sense that there is not a lot I can say without some kind of first-hand experience,
