Why you don't drink and drive (4th Gen Maxima)
Why you don't drink and drive (4th Gen Maxima)
this is why you should never drink and drive while going 100mph. One dead passenger....one critically injured driver waiting to face criminal charges.

sober for 11 months..lesson learned..I hate seeing stuff like this but it sure is a reminder for us all..
I hope the driver makes it out ok..
not only drink and drive. the racing can cause that too. freaking drunk driver and racers, as theres a saying (the outcome of wrong doing is always bad) dont feel sorry for them.
I couldn't help but notice, it looked like it was wet out also. Even being sober and of good mind, if he was speeding at all, it might have been mighty easy to slip and slide.
Being inebriated only enhanced his lack of reaction/poor judgement....?

Hate to say it, but most people I know drink and drive, most of them wait it off for a couple of hours after, but its still not right. The only way people will ever learn is if it happens to them, as it did to me.
My friend totaled my 1995 ford contour on the highway doing 80 mph on new years eve. me and 3 other people were in the car, and one person was wearing a seat belt. One person flew out of the car through the rear windshield while the car was in the air. Never drank and drove since(4 years). It is a little harsh to say that you shouldnt feel sorry for them, because its all about the people you hang out with, and they influence you to do dumb things. A perfectly smart person who never drank and drove can end up in a situation like this from influence of his friends. Hopefully people will just mature quicker

Ill be the first one in line at the junkyard to play vulture on his car, it looks like he had some nice mods.
Bottom line is this, Own up to your mistakes and be accountable.

I bet not a single one. I do not feel sorry for this kid tearing up his car and here is why. #1. He was drinking under age! #2. The driver was 16!! #3. He was speeding DURING A RAINSTORM!!! #4. HE WAS DRINKING UNDER AGE!!!!

So in conclusion, you have one valid point: He was speeding. Take a look at the weekend battles section, you'll find that it's not all that uncommon.
I don't beleive anyone deserves to have this happen. I think that's quite an assanine thing to say, I'd expect a little more maturity from a 31 year old.
I think what he deserved was to get pinched by the cops, a $1500 fine, a year without a license, and the feel of steel on his wrists as he sits in the back of a transport car, destined for one of the hardest phone calls he's ever had to make to his parents. That's enough to teach 90% of kids not to make that mistake quite as easily again, as well as for those friends not to encourage that kind of behavior again.
To say that people, particularly KIDS, deserve to die or even come close to it because they make mistakes is wrong. I personally feel that if something like this had to happen, I'm very glad they hit a pole and not another driver. However, there are much more appropriate ways to teach young foolish and stupid people to make better choices without chalking it up to death or life impairment.

How come the light pole did not break away from the ground? I thought that it was a safety requirement for Highways and such ... Might have saved the passenger's life!

NOBODY should drink and drive, age has nothing to do with it. in europe the drinking age is 18 and younger if you want to drink, thats underage here, would you still blame it on being underage or are you the ignorant type that would then just blame it on the age and not being UNDERage? the fact is the driver did something stupid and paid for it, and now will be paying for it for a long long time.

Speeding that much is never right, regardless of the weather. #4. Repeated the same argument again.

Araffio was on my mind when I saw this post.
The thing is, everyone knows how bad it is. It happened before, it happens now, and it will happen again. It is a real shame but thats the way things are.

I must admit I am curious though...
Affirro had one of the top 5 maximas to EVER come into the maxima community, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/212763 He was robbed at gunpoint of his car and then it was recovered, Stripped to the bone, then he gets a G35 coupe wrecks it and if i am not mistaken kills 1 of the passengers, or maybe it was 2, (it slips my mind) point is HE made the choice to be stupid and Speed, placing his passengers lives in his hands. There probaly was not any influence there, just choice plain and simple.
I mentioned that because the debate began about INFLUENCE vs. CHOICE. no one influenced that kid to drink and drive, no one influenced him to speed. Thoes were all choices HE MADE. and when all the smoke clears he will be in the same place as Affiro, Locked up for a long time relishing in the fact that he made a bad CHOICE. and that no one can be blamed but himself.
Yeah, its sad that there was an accident and people were hurt, but do i feel remorse for them. NO. Just the same as i feel no remorse for someone who climbs a 14,000 ft. Mountain and gets his @ss stuck, whenever i see that i say "That's what your @ss get for going up there."
