There probaly was not any influence there, just choice plain and simple.

I mentioned that because the debate began about INFLUENCE vs. CHOICE. no one influenced that kid to drink and drive, no one influenced him to speed. Thoes were all choices HE MADE. and when all the smoke clears he will be in the same place as Affiro, Locked up for a long time relishing in the fact that he made a bad CHOICE. and that no one can be blamed but himself.

Yeah, its sad that there was an accident and people were hurt, but do i feel remorse for them. NO. Just the same as i feel no remorse for someone who climbs a 14,000 ft. Mountain and gets his @ss stuck, whenever i see that i say "That's what your @ss get for going up there."

I was able to find the part where he had his car stolen at gunpoint, but I couldn't find anything about the accident.

I made the middle section bold because I want to make myself clear in that I agree with you 100% on this. My only point is that I would rather see the passengers alive and the guy get a DUI charge then to see it this way. Does HE deserve to be in jail? absolutely. Do the passengers deserve to be dead? absolutely not.

My earlier response to what you said should not be mistaken to say I think the kid should be forgiven for what he did or that he isn't responsible, only that I find it regretful and tragic that something like THAT had to happen to pull his head out of his stupid @ss. If he would have learned the same lesson by getting arrested, I would have much rather of seen it happen that way. I assume you can understand this point, because I doubt you sit at home and listen to the news about a DUI arrest that happened that night, and then tell yourself "that's bull! that guy shouldn't have been arrested! He should be wrapped around a tree with his passengers dead! That's what he deserves!"

thats your view on his car, and that is respectable, but last i checked nobody here on this board has ever thought so highly of your ride. id does not matter who he was a "poster boy" for is ride was tight, and last i recall i dont think custom Maxima EVER had his car on their site. That man put A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY INTO THAT CAR!! and the praise and accolades he recived for it were well deserved.

Affiro certainly had a pimp ride. I cannot imagine getting all of that jacked like that. Did he ever post pics of what it looked like when they recovered it? Is he doing time now for the wreck?

Actually Tony had a lot of custom stuff done to his max, all the people doing the LED taillights owe that mod to him, he was the first to do it along with swapping out the dash lights as well, come to think of it I don't think he had very many CE parts at all, so why not quiet down before you embarrass your self any further.

And as far as being a top 5 maxima thats based on ones own opinion but a poster boy for custom maxima, dont think so.

That is a nasty wreck. I hate seeing things like this. I've had my own encounter with a life threatning wreck. I was the passenger in that car (f'ing honda civic hatchback) in Germany. The guy was newer driver (18 1/2), and was not experienced enough to handle performance. We were in a car pool of 4 cars running the streets to the club, getting to 100+ MPH (that's when I slapped on my seatbelt and the others in the car did the same) then just about 45 seconds later, we were in a silence flying sideways after losing grip on a wide curve. It was the craziest thing ever... next thing I know I shatter the door window with my head and got knocked out. After a going through pole, a tree, and 5 full flips, and a bounce over a street 300 yards away from the first pole... we landed upside down. I woke up first, unbuckled and fell down to the roof. Got out and that's when I realized WTF just happened. Everyone else driving made that turn becuase they had experience and control.

Crazy time, and long term after effects... for me it was a back brace for 6 months, and several stitches. I'm lucky to be here...

Anyways, for those of you reading this... YOUNGER ones especially.... If you don't have the experience to handle vehicle weight and balance at high speeds... or know how to react to sudden environmental changes (as sudden as ***** at the batting cages)... DON'T LEARN ON THE STREETS! And especially NOT UNDER INFLUENCE! You are only putting yours and everyone elses life in danger.

You should look for closed courses, driving schools, or at least somewhere safer to test and learn your driving skills. Just not on the streets... It only takes 1 time... and can't ever take it back. Be safe... be smart... be professional.

It's not a race track if it's public.

I don't mean to be lecturing... Just sharing my advice while on the topic.

Pray for the families involved too!

Dibs???? U Vultures... lol

man, looking at that makes me Cringe.... that really sucks! Never drink and drive.... and i hope all that do, look at this and know that it is not just an ok thing to do. Sad thing is that many people still do it, thinking that nothing can happen and they cry when they get pulled over.....Lucky they did...

Thanks for the kind comments J. As many of you may or may not know, I did about 5 years in upstate NY because of my mistake. I am now off parole and free, but it was a long journey. From the time I was arrested to the time I finished parole was about 8 years 5 months. All because I made the foolish (but common) decision to have a few drinks and drive. It amazes me that even people that I have known for years, or family members that went through the whole court process with me, continue to have a few drinks and drive. I'm not saying they drink a lot, but it my eyes, a single drink is too much. It's just too risky!!

I plan on becoming a part of the Org again after several years. Not a chance in hell i will my 2012 Maxima Sport/Tech with the same passion and funds that I did my last one, but I do plan on being here which is fun for me.

Welcome back bro !! I did the same thing about 8 years ago with my 4th gen. Knew i shouldn't have got behind the wheel that night and did anyway. Luckily i got my friend home safe.. At the end of his street i blacked out and smahed into someones Camry in there driveway at 2 in the morning. Needless to say i haven't had a sip of anything with alcohol and drove since.

Wow welcome back!

I remembered reading this a long time ago, but I never thought I would get the chance to actually meet the man in this story.

But, I'm glad you are now free and ready to re-start your life!
