On the 97-99... bluish to oncoming traffic at certain angles while it casts a slightly amber hue to the ground...
I got to get another pair of 85W H3s.. just blew out one of my SuperWhites... I think I'll got back to Ion Crystals if I can find them...

I agree with breaux124. If you want yellow fogs, get Hella Yellowstars. Here is a pic of the Hella Yellowstars on a Maxima:

Also, talk to psing23. He painted his fogs on his 5th gen and they are very yellow. He has pics of them at night.
Hope this helps!

but I rememeber hearing someone bought the yellowstars recently and they wherent half as yellow as they used to be. And although painting the actual lense yellow would probably be the best route... I like the all clear look in the daytime

I believe you are referring to Anthony Citrano (MaineI30). I remember reading this too. I think he had the Yellowstars and one blew out, and then he went to replace it and bought the wrong one. The real yellow ones shown in the pic, are (I think) 85W, the ones Anthony had and one blew out. The "not so yellow ones" Anthony bought were only 55W which was why they didn't look so yellow. I don't know if it's a good idea to run 85W bulbs in the fog lights though. You might want to ask someone else who knows more about running 85W bulbs in the fogs.Originally posted by Nine7Max

I had Hella 85w yellowstars. I liked em beacuse they were bright....but I do belive they cracked the glass lense on my 3rd gen. The got WAY hot and I can imagine snow and water in the winter just cracking them on contact.
As far as yellow....why do they have to do that "ion" junk. They were generally yellow, but kinda pale. And it certain angles you would get a flash of purple/blue.....thats the ion for you.
My plan: I'm gonna replace the lenses anyway so I'll mess around with the old ones. I'll get the paint and do up my old ones. See if its kinda yellow. If not, I go buy new hella's and paint the new lenses and that should be yellow. Where can I get that paint?
I think I may go for the raybrig metal white h-3's but then nothing will match cuz there are no GOOD 9004 bulbs.

what makes the foglight output in the infiniti QX4 so yellow, is there any part of it we can take or modify to fit our foglamps?

DONT buy the PIAA Ion crystal h3's. I had them for about 5min and returned them for SW 85watt. They throw off a pinkish/purple/blue color. No were close to the Hella Yellow stars. I had the yellow stars for a while, they really dont do much unless its truly foggy out and dont look yellow AT ALL from a distance. So I went back to my PIAA SW 85watt bulbs and im happy with them, plus they match up to my PIAA 9004 and Polar-G lights alot better
