HELP -car broken into!!
#1
I go into my car (1997 gxe with stock alarm) this morning and found that my car was broken into. Nothing was taken but all of the stuff in my glove box and armrest compartment were all over the place. The same thing to my neighbor's car. I am absolutely positive that the alarm did not go off> I have no idea how they got into my car.
Does anyone have any ideas on how they got into my car without setting off the alarm?
Even if they use a "slim-jim" the alarm should go off.

nope
I thought that at first, but my neighbors car was broken into as well. The odds of us both forgetting to lock our doors is slim. And besides I ALWAYS lock my doors...I always check to see the lights flash before I leave the car.

What the F$%&#!!!!!!
I did not know that. That has got be it. I can not believe the alarm only covers the front two doors. THAT IS THE WORST F%$# IDEA EVER. What good is an alarm that doesn't work if they slim jim the back door. Anyway thanx for the response. Looks like I have to invest in an alarm. I can't believe I never heard about that before.

THANX
I guess I should consider this a freebie since nothing was taken. Thanx guys...looks like I have to spend money on something that should come with the car in the first place.
You guys know of a decent alarm system that does not cost "too much?"

Add a shock sensor to the OEM alarm
Check out the ITS add on sensor.
I have added to my 1999 for $90 including the part.
Now, it's almost good as an aftermarket alarm system.
I went to about 4 different audio shops asking about adding an shock sensor to the Nissan OEM alarm. They all said it can't be done. One shop that carried code alarm suggested this and the did some research. He got it to work.

Not to many car thieves know this cause i had some guy trying to steal my car with a slim jim once he opened that door all he heard was air horns. When I heard this I came running down my stairs with a bat this fat little kid tried cutting my airhorns cause he opened my hood. When he saw me he halled a$$ into this civic that was parked waiting for him I still got to hit his *** with the bat. From that day forward never had another insident.
